Au Comptoir is a Parisian cafe with influences from its West Coast setting. The restaurant's name refers to a popular style of dining in France. Au Comptoir translates to "at the counter", a fun and relaxing communal style of dining that can refer to anything from drinking a cappuccino or wine with friends to enjoying a full dinner on a casual date night.

We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week except Tuesday. Some delicious breakfast options include a croque monsieur, croque madame and the signature "assiette Au Comptoir" which comes with scrambled eggs, house-made sausage, bacon, country bread and a potato rösti. For later in the day, diners can try our lunch and dinner specialties like the magret de canard or a classic steak frites.

On Saturdays and Sundays, we feature our popular weekend brunch menu from 10 am to 5 pm.

Ordered the foie gras it was delicious but the veal was totally overcooked and dried out. The sauce was tasteless and it was totally disappointing. The service model is unusual since no set tables per server so you are asked multiple times the same question by different servers. Don’t think the chef even tasted the veal.

After lots of evenings at Au Comptoire, this is my first time giving points off. Bavette steak was listed as coming with potatoes dauphinoise, but came with fried potato croquettes. Dauphinoise should be thinly sliced, cooked in cream, unctious, baked. No comment or attempt to remedy by server when we expressed surprise and dismay. Tarte tatin was unrecognizable as the classic dessert. Apples atop a thick pastry disk that had been baked separately. An unexpectedly acrod note somewhere in the dessert (in the caramel drizzle?). A disappointment that we did not finish. I come to Au Comptoir for classic bistro fare. In this case, both entree and dessert missed the mark.

The meals were good not stupendous. Ambiance is noisy so can be difficult to chat at a table for four. Waiter was friendly and suggested a lovely wine. Unfortunately one guest’s order was forgotten so they had to eat after the rest of the table was almost finished. All the desserts were great except the plum sorbet, strange texture and not flavourful.

Great service and wonderful food. Interacted with staff as best I could in my (very rusty) French and they were awesome to deal with and very friendly. Highly recommended.

We had or favourites, gnocchi and magret de canard, excellent! Also the tarte au citron was really punchy, just the way we like it.
