I made reservations at this establishment for Valentines Day with high expectations. Parking wasn’t terrible which is convenient because usually that is a nightmare figuring out. Waiter was very well put together and added to the experience, and was nice enough to give me my mock tail for free after forgetting about it until after we finished our meal. I noticed our table was also dirty, and we didn’t have the nice decor that everyone else had which I didn’t realize until we took photos. It was just a bit irritating that we didn’t get the full treatment like the waiter had mentioned from the minute we sat down. The food was definitely not worth the price whatsoever either, and that was the main reason why I made reservations at this restaurant. My girlfriend also got the filet mignon, and it looked like seared ahi tuna. The food was just super disappointing on top of it being insanely expensive, when I could get the same thing at Sambuca next door for way less and with way more flavor. Will not be back.

Terrible. We were sat and waited at least 15 minutes for anyone to come to our table. It took equally as long to get a glass of water. The entrees were not hot. I think the most infuriating part was the meal was so expensive and absolutely not worth what we paid. Just disappointed.

We went for a later Valentines dinner and were blown away by everything- top to bottom. As someone who’s not a fine dining connoisseur- it never felt like I didn’t know what was happening on my plate. Great place, service, and food.

Husband and I went for valentines day - had a great experience. Food was delicious, servers were kind and informative - very laid back evening. We were seated in the back area so the ambiance was a bit lacking compared to the main dining room but didn’t take away from our evening. Would go back for a date night!

Food was wonderful but the service was some of the worst I’ve seen in quite some time, unfortunately.

Restaurant is nice and server was attentive. The food was just not that great. The 72 hour Tri tip is drenched in sauce. The Mac n cheese was not good, Cornbread was unique, neither good nor bad. Brussels were yummy and we enjoyed the pimento dip with crackers!

We had a great experience at 404 kitchen for our business meal. The menu had great selections, server (Moses) and his team were so accommodating, and the food was fantastic. I’m excited to return again on my next visit!

Our expectations of what we thought 404 was and what it is, were very different and left us wondering if we had an advanced enough pallet for the meal. American songbook music and service was good and on par with prominent venues in town. We ordered the beef tartare(4/10), the beet salad (5.5), the burger (6.3), the salmon(6.8), the brussel sprouts(7.4), and the bourbon cake (6.2). The food looked gorgeous and seemed sophisticated. The tastes were very natural, and earthy, and the seasonings were typical natural herb shoots like thyme or chopped garnishes. Each time we bit in to something it felt like every bite was different, like we weren’t eating it right. For instance, when we ate the beet salad with the feta we were crushed by how smoked the dish was and my wife and I both said there needed to be more sweet to balance. We eventually realized that the walnuts at the bottom of the dish carried that sweetness we were looking for but they weren’t making it to our forks the salad, beets, or feta. We felt similarly about each dish in some way (aside from the Brussels). Beef tartare- overpowering saltiness. Burger - dry but hidden with the collard greens which were strong. I personally liked the salmon dish but my wife felt similarly about the ingredients in the Calabrian sauce. Lastly, the smoked butter whiskey flavor in the cupcake was so powerful that when we caught a bite that prominently featured it our faces contorted with bitterness cause we were so overpowered. Like I stated earlier, it very well could be us. We joked during the dinner that we were positive some lower east side/ posh out of towner would ADORE the “mystique, and sophistication of the flavor profiles” but unfortunately, although we are “foodies”, we felt a little out of place and questioned our own pallets. Lastly, not a big deal, but not something I’ve seen in nashville often. We got a 3% charge for using a credit card.
