Afternoon Tea

The elegant Victorian style team in Salt Lake City is at The Grand America. Guests are served on Tunisia China designed exclusively for the hotel. The floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to savor views of the garden courtyard while you savor the small pleasures of a traditional English afternoon tea.

Choose from a variety of premium international teas along with tea sandwiches made with cucumber, Pacific cold smoked salmon, watercress, and more. Later, a delectable array of freshly baked scones (served with homemade strawberry jam and Devonshire cream), flaky pastries, rich tortes, and delightful petit fours await your pleasure.

You’ll be soothed by the gentle music of a softly-played harp or piano, giving this classic event a distinctively European ambience. Afternoon Tea at Grand America offers a memorable experience like no other in Salt Lake City.

This Afternoon Tea experience was one of the most enjoyable that we have had. The service was impeccable, the staff friendly and accommodating. The tea was loose leaf and properly brewed, the food served for Afternoon Tea was varied, tasty, and beautifully presented. There was lovely piano music in the background and we were not rushed during our stay here. The elegant experience of enjoying afternoon tea in this beautiful hotel was a special treat at an affordable price. If we lived close by, we would visit as frequently as possible. Treat yourself to Afternoon Tea at The Grand America Hotel! You won't be disappointed!

Was the third visit for me, but brought some family with that has never been to an afternoon tea before. They loved it! Menu was different than last time & was delicious! So much food for a little price. Only drawback was the convention in house let out halfway through our sitting and they stayed in the hotel lobby for the bulk of our stay, so it was relatively loud. But still a very enjoyable visit & we will be back! Service was excellent!

Afternoon tea is always delightful. The server was very nervous and struggled a bit with her words but I am guessing that she is new. The first plate was tasty and interesting. The dessert plate was disappointing. The gumdrops are our favorite, but there were only two instead of three--are they being phased out? The white chocolate, blackberry tart is uninteresting, and the lemon-lime macaroon overly sweet. The sponge cake and cookie are afternoon tea staples, and while they are not my favorite the other items usually make up for it. Unfortunately, this time I didn't enjoy the dessert as much as usual.

There was a bug in my tea cup...from the sugar. We included our parking tickets for validation and the waiter forgot to return them and my credit card. Normally not a problem to walk back in after stalling traffic in the parking lot, but I'm in a brace.

Beautiful Hotel. I think the food for afternoon tea could be much better. Our server, Blair, made the occasion so special...we felt like a million bucks!

Came here to celebrate my mother's birthday. She has been wanting to have Afternoon Tea here for a while. Atmosphere is beautiful. We really enjoyed the young lady playing the harp during our visit. Our server Dan was so great. Very friendly and helpful. Overall, highly recommend

I haven't had afternoon tea since moving back to the U.S. from Europe in the Fall, and Grand America did not disappoint...it was lovely! The room feels very European, the service was attentive, and there was a nice variety of finger sandwiches & sweets. My friend & I ordered the Grand Traditions Tea, which included a glass of sparking wine and a fruit & cheese plate. We both agreed it was worth the extra money. My only complaint is that they didn't have traditional clotted cream (it was a citrus flavored cream). Probably won't go for afternoon tea too often because it is a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth the splurge once & a while!
