My first time taking my wife here for her birthday. She had the De Burgo and enjoyed it very much. If you want to have a quiet dinner together, this is a great place with excellent food. I would definitely recommend.

Went to AJ's for my birthday and it was great! The food and service was top of the line. Prime rib cooked exactly how I wanted it. The service was great too! We will definitely be back again!

The service was great. Everyone in the restaurant made sure to say hello and go above and beyond. The prime rib first had zero flavor. And was wa too done.

Food was very good. Seem to be back on track. Service was very good. Very loud. A gentleman that came in after we were seated whistled non stop. Very annoying. Talked loud when he was whistling. Realize this is not anything you can avoid, just disrupted during our dinner. Beer menu is a bit sad. Should definitely have something especially this time of year. Understand you may not sell alot of craft beer but kind of bummed no bottles or can options In dark beer. Thanks

I was visiting my son in Des Moines for Thanksgiving. I looked for a hotel that would offer a dinner for the 2 of us and found Prairie Meadows Hotel and Casino had both. The cost was $60 per person for a 3 course dinner. I chose the salad for course one and that was tasty, the the traditional turkey dinner for course two. The turkey, gravy, and potatoes were all good, but not exceptional. The stuffing was pure mush, not tasty and no texture. I was very disappointed to have paid $60 for a very average meal. The dessert, an apple tart with ice cream was very good and the best part of the meal. Service was good and the ambience was very nice, but I felt the price was out of whack.

We went for Thanksgiving. I had the turkey dinner which was fine. My wife said her fish had no flavor. Service was slow, but it was a holiday so that has to be expected. The next day it was very slow and few people were there. Service was a little bit faster. The food was the main issue. AJ's is on the pricey side and my wife's steak was overcooked, the lobster was like rubber and almost inedible, her baked potato was ice cold as were my mashed potatoes. We let the server know and she said "sorry" but did nothing at all. For those prices, that should not happen and if it does, something should be done. We didn't make a fuss, but you asked me and this is my response. The food in the concession area of the casino as well as the breakfast/lunch in the hotel was really great with great service and not nearly as pricey. I enjoyed the casino and all the other places to eat, but I wont be going to AJs again.
