   Really disappointed in my experience with Beatrix. I have been a fan of Lettuce restaurants since I was a college student in Chicago in the 1980's. I recently moved back to Chicago and I live in the neighborhood and I have wanted to try the restaurant after getting coffee and pastries in your coffee bar from time to time. Service was rushed...We got our appetizers and had literally taken maybe 5 bites when our entrees were just dropped on the table. The tuna crispy rice appetizer tasted more like tuna fish. The mushroom burger was cold and mushy and I had to ask for new fries because they were served cold and unsalted and by the time I had finished my appetizers to actually eat my entree the fries were really cold and flavorless! The best part of the meal is the caramel pie that the restaurant is really known for, that was delicious. Totally underwhelming experience and the prices are not cheap. Won't be dining there again.

   Poor service, waitress barely interacted with me. Food and juice were good but very small portions for the price. The restaurant also charges 3.5% surcharge without any explanation. Expensive and poor service. Will not return. Many better options available in downtown Chicago.

   The ambience was very good, especially for families of different ages. Lighting was bright enough that those with tougher sight could see. There was enough place between tables where conversations didn't get drowned out. Food was great and lots of options! Overall, great experience!

   I have to go to Nortwestern every 8 weeks for tests. We’ve eaten here theee times and it never disappoints. I had the Caesar salad with chicken. Dressing was delicious. My husband had a turkey au jus sandwich and fries-also excellent. Atmosphere is great. A little noisy, but warm and inviting.

   Great breakfast, I ordered the chicken and waffles, the chicken wasn't overbreaded, and it was flavorful. Migas were okay, they are a Mexican breakfast dish that I grew up making, we used fresh tortillas and just fried them before adding the rest of ingredients, this was close but probably chips were used, good, but could be better.

   Food was good, the fruit plate was amazing! Service was quick and the ambiance is cozy. The music was on point, 80s mostly!

    We love the casaer salad which is not only lettuce. Both the pasta are amazingly good (the rigatoni vodka and pappardelle ragu) We also have the lamb shank with mashed potatoes, simply wonderful. The only thing is the food came not very hot. The servicing staff helped us reheat a bit the rigatoni and it’s so much better. If every dish can be hotter, it will be perfect.
