    Over a hour to be seated with reservations- a hour and a half for a server or greeter to come to our table. Chef Eric was great once he got there. Everything else was horrible.

    It took an over 90 minutes for the chef to come to our table to cook. Benihanas was understaffed or over booked or both. Management was horrible. I felt bad for the staff working there as they were put in a position to fail. Worst NYE dining experience ever. Also ran out of glassware and silverware so ate with plastic forks.

    We had not been to Benihana's in a long, long time. We went as a celebration dinner after our son's engagement just prior at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. I must say, as native Atlantan with many fond memories of being in and around Downtown Atlanta, Midtown and Buckhead, and even many fun memories associated with Benihana's, I was rather shocked at the behavior of the clientele. There were only four of us so we were seated with two other couples we did not know. Back in the good old days, that would have meant we made new friends and had a jolly time being entertained by the chef at our table. However, that was not the case at all. Both couples, one maybe more than the other, were completely engrossed with their phones, barely spoke to each other, much less anyone else. They seldom, if at all, smiled or engaged with the chef or any table mates. As we looked around the entire restaurant, we were surrounded by groups of families--including young children--who were doing the same thing--everyone glued to a phone in hand. We were the only 4 we could see who did not have our phones out (except for a fun photo or two). We enjoyed our dinner and conversation with each other. Our chef was entertaining and seemed to appreciate our engagement with him. Our service was good and the food was exactly as expected. I doubt, however, that we will be back there soon. So unfortunate the social skills that are lost and the rudeness exhibited toward hardworking people. It makes me sad to write this review. It was quite a wake up call to our whole group. It was not the service that turned us off, but the clientele.

    They had two armed guards outside the restaurant and one inside. Kind of scary....

    We had a reservation for 8:30. We were required to use a credit card to reserve, and informed that we would be charged $20 if we missed our reservation (15 minutes late). We arrived at 8:30, and were informed that they were just now seating the 8:00 reservations. Finally at 10:04 pm we weee seated. We got our drinks at 10:31. That’s 2 hours after our reservation time. How does this even happen? What’s the point of making a reservation? If they charge us for missing the reservation, shouldn’t they do something for us when THEY miss the reservation? The service was so bad that you don’t even have time to read all the things that happened. It was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had, and Benihana is my favorite restaurant. But it was bad enough that when we left at 11:30, after spending $301 on my family, I realized that it’s truly not worth it.

    We had reservations for 5:30 PM but were not seated until 7:45 PM—a delay of over two hours. Upon arrival at 5:00 PM, we learned they were still seating guests with 3:00 PM reservations. This level of mismanagement is unacceptable. Overbooking to the extent of 1,100 reservations in one day demonstrates a clear disregard for customers’ time and expectations, despite the holiday season. I made my reservations a month in advance, expecting a professional and well-organized experience. Instead, the lack of a proper system and an apparent prioritization of financial gain over customer satisfaction created a chaotic and disrespectful environment. When businesses fail to respect their customers’ time and plans, they risk losing trust and loyalty. A reservation cap should have been implemented to ensure smooth operations and positive experiences for all. This was a poor reflection of professionalism, and significant improvements are necessary.

    Had res for 5:30 seated at 7:45 food was subpar chef not that good . Staff was nice even though was told 700 res that day could at least have provided soda tea or water during the extremely long wait. Use to be much better seems to have declined

    I booked my reservation months in advance for 5:15pm on Christmas. We were not seated until 7:15pm. No apologies, nothing was done to show they understood our frustration. Nine years this has been our tradition, but it will not continue. Very frustrating
