   Enjoyed a late hibachi dinner New Years Eve. The restaurant was running about 30 minutes behind schedule due to computer problems. Once seated things went well. The kids enjoyed the show and loved the food. Our orders were wrong but the cook managed to correct them quickly. Its a fun time for all ages. We go every NY’s eve.

   We had a 6:00 reservation, but weren’t seated until 7:00. The lobby area was overflowing with people waiting. Clearly overbooking is just how they operate. The women’s restroom has 3 stalls, two of which had completely broken off toilet seats. There were 2 sinks, one didn’t turn on and the other was clogged and not draining. Soap dispensers were empty. Our bill for 2 adults and 2 kids was $280. Can they not afford to have working bathrooms and soap? The food was “meh” and our chef was very disappointing. He forgot ingredients and forgot to cook items included in our orders. We won’t be going back to this restaurant.

   We forget how Benihana is still better than other Teppanyaki around the Bay Area. Reservation is a must otherwise the wait will be too long especially during dinner. William our teppanyaki chef was friendly, attentive and entertaining. Will return again!

   We’ve been going to Benihanas for the last 20 years, but sadly it has gotten so expensive. Even with the Chef’s table birthday certificate a family of 3 was $200. The certificate is worth $30 but the basic hibachi chicken is 35.50 plus 7.50 for fried rice not to mention a soda is $5. Sad to say even with the birthday certificates we will stop going. Out server told us the prices have gone up every 2 weeks or so and once people are seated many walk out once seeing the menu prices. This location is quite dirty and chairs, etc are wore and need attention & a good cleaning. We are happy to see our regular chefs like German & Jorge but the prices are just too steep to swallow.

    Way too crowded. Disorganized. 40 minute wait despite reservation. 10 people per table. Friendly staff. Terrible cocktails that didn’t match menu in appearance or ingredients. Per the bar, the “menu is wrong”.
