    This was the worst experience I have ever encountered at Benihana in all of my years dining here for special occasions. We were treated poorly, unjust, and disregarded. The service was bad that it was laughable. We were celebrating my Husband's birthday and I was reluctant to choose Benihana Farmington Hills as the location to celebrate such a joyous occasion. Our reservation was at 8:00 PM. We were seated at a dirty table...the table was so dirty that I had to ask the waitress for a wet napkin to clean where I was sitting. I informed her that it was my Husband's Birthday and I would like the Benihana Birthday celebration song for him. At the end end of our dinner she came out with a bowl of ice cream without her team, the drum, or the tambourine for the birthday song. Instead, our waitress rushed through a half way decent happy birthday greeting. When expressed my disappointment to her, she brushed it off and stated that everyone was going home so she couldn't do it then walked off mocking me. Meanwhile, there were 3 staff members just hanging out at a table talking waiting for patrons to finish eating so that they clear tables. Just downright unacceptable. That's that. Then there was hair in my daughter's food. I didn't bring it up to the waitress because I didn't want to be mocked. I went directly to the manager who seems irritated that I was speaking to her. She did not check or follow up with our family at all. At one point, the chef left the table because he forgot something in the kitchen. The bathrooms were also dirty. Again, I've frequented this location for years on end and it's severely declining. The experience was awful today the least. The only reason I was ended up here is because that's where my kids wanted to treated their Father for his birthday. I rushed back from Traverse City, Michigan for an unsatisfactory experience on a meaningful day. Unacceptable and disgusting. Don't take my word for it, go see for yourself and report back.

From the dirty table, rushed and disrespectful service, mishandled birthday celebration, to the hair in your daughter's food and dirty bathrooms—this is far from the high standard we strive to uphold. Your frustration and disappointment are completely understandable, and we sincerely apologize for how you were treated. We’ll be addressing these serious issues with our team to ensure this doesn’t happen again.     We love Benihana, Farmington Hills MI. Lindsey was our server and Victor was our Chef. They are both AMAZING. We felt like we hit the jackpot getting them both tonight! The chicken fried rice was PERFECT. Sometimes the chefs cook the rice crispy, definitely not the case tonight. Like I mentioned, Victor is the BEST.

    I truly enjoyed my Lent experience at Benihana. Chef Adama made the tuna steak and Seafood Diablo, and both were amazing. Another table near us even asked what we ordered as they were leaving, wishing they had chosen the same dishes. Our server, Bintou, was very personable and refilled our drinks right away. I would definitely come back and request both of them!

    The Benihana experience isn’t what it used to be. The chefs are very quiet now with little guest interaction.

    The service was terrible. It took 2hrs before we got our food. The food was nasty. They messed the order up twice. On top of everything when it was time to go the waiter left the bills on the other table and never came back to give ppl to go boxes or bills. We had to get up n go get our own boxes. Never going there again.

    Chef made sure everything was perfect! Only issue we had to move tables due to the table burning the food and they gave us a $35 discount off of the bill waitress was super nice and make sure we were taken care of!

    Benihana is usually a bit noisy, so I expected that. Our chef, Victor, was FABULOUS!! He was kind, funny, and engaging. More importantly, his food was DELICIOUS! The servers were also fabulous!
