   Reservations are a joke to this place. They were an hour behind on reservation and after an hour we still had 12 people ahead of us

   This Benihana location does not respect your OT reservation time booked. When you arrive they tell you it will be 30 minutes longer before your table is ready and push you to go spend money in their bar lounge. Our table was not ready for 50 min. This location is not managed well. They over book reservations and people waiting are out the door or in the lounge. There is not enough free parking. They charge $8 for valet in the same parking lot. One of the worst restaurant experiences in San Diego. We won't be back.

   Made a reservation a week ahead ! I was taking young grandchildren for a treat ! Arrived and was told the wait is 45 minutes.

   In a party of six, it is hard for persons 1-2 to hear persons 5-6. But the service and food is outstanding!

   Be aware, a reservation time does not mean you will be seated at that time. There is no table saved for you. We had a 4:30 reservation as we had 6:30 show tickets. When we checked in at 4:30 we were told there were only a "few groups" ahead of us and "things run behind when people linger" after their meal. At 5:00 I asked if we could sit at a regular table so we could eat sooner. We were told to pick any one available. At 5:15 we had not been greeted or even given water. We got up and left. Very disappointed that a "reservation" isn't really a reservation here.

   The chef in the teppanyaki table was outstandingly good and very very into service. Waiter was so so, hostess was terrible. Waiting time was horrorific even tho we had a reservation and I specifically told them my mother is in chemotherapy and I have 3 kids 3, 4 and 5 years old. It took them one hour and 15 minutes to seat us and 30 minutes to get the drinks. I studied the benihana case in Harvard and thought very well about the company... the only thing that would make us go back is the show of the chef and the food cause the kids loved ir.

   Overall great experience! The only ding was that we waited 45 minutes after checking in as we were told they were running behind. Otherwise, the food and service from the server and chef were great!

    Had a reservation at 5pm, we were told that they were behind in seating their reservations. We were seated 45 minutes late. I appreciated the notice, all was fine, service and cook were outstanding.
