   Service and food were underwhelming. It appeared that the restaurant was short cooks and my group had to wait 40 minutes despite having a reservation.

   We had a 8:15 reservation. We didn’t get seated until 8:45 (the manager said they were running behind - ridiculous!). We didn’t have anyone start cooking until after 9pm. And once he came we never saw our hostess, we all joked at the table that she went home. Food was great, and our chef was amazing and very entertaining. Had it not been for the ridiculous wait time and our waitress leaving (not 1 water refill during dinner, or tea!), I would have rated it better.

   I came to Benihana for my birthday for the preparation presentation. The food quality would be an added plus. The server could not project in the loud environment and we could hardly hear her. The server hardly did any presentation at all. He did 2 or 3 things and prepared the food. He also was hard to hear. After he left we turned around and the cook at the table behind us did a fun presentation. I wish we had him. Overall a bit of a disappointment.

    We lays have a fabulous time when we go to the Benihanas in Scottsdale, we are seniors that drive 100 miles a few times a year to celebrate our birthdays with the Chef’s Table offer. Our chefs, Juan, are always entertaining and the food is prepared perfectly to our liking. Our servers, Dillon, are always professional and make us feel like valued customers. They are assets to the Scottsdale’s Benihanas. If we didn’t enjoy ourselves, we wouldn’t be traveling that far to eat.
