   The food was great as always. The chef came to the table to prepare the food a little while after order was placed but no one had received their soup or salad yet. Someone from the table had to go get the manager to report it.

   Waiting in the lobby was an interesting experience. Full pleather onesies, lace blouses and very revealing attire throughout the waiting area that smelled very strongly of cheap Mary Jane. Food was good per usual for Benihana. Very accommodating service. Overall, a very very very slow drawn out process to order and get our food. Approximately 2 hours from the time we sat down to when we got the last bit of food cooked and on our plates. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Chef was friendly, funny engaging and thorough. The bathrooms were an absolute disaster to where I chose to hold it and drive the 30 minutes home.

   Absolutely the worst. We had a reservation for 7:00, didn’t get seated until almost 8:00. After we were sat nobody came to our table for over 20 mins. After our orders were taken it took so long to get water that I went to the bar to ask for some. My daughter wanted to go here for a birthday dinner. I asked her several times if we could go to a different restaurant. She was insistent we stay other I would have left. At no point did anyone in the whole restaurant offer an apology or an explanation. The bathroom was disgusting. The only nice thing I can is the chef who cooked our food was very nice. I will never return to this establishment.

   I don’t know why they bother taking reservations. We still had to wait almost 1/2 hour. Then another 10min to see a waitress. It took forever. It put a big damper on our birthday celebration.

   Benihana Troy has gone down hill. Used be be a much nicer experience. First, our chef Ricardo was excellent! He was the high point of the evening. But our service person was not attentive, slow to clear, and mildly irritated when asked for a drink, utensils, etc. Food was decent, good portions. But overall, will not be rushing back.

   Our reservation was for 8:45. We didn't get to even order our food until around 9:20. Our server disappeared after delivering salads & soup. We kept our eyes out to flag down the server but we didn't even see her walking around the hibachi dinning room. She didn't show back up until the hibachi chef was almost finished. By this time we had been out of drinks for most of the meal and since soup and salad bowls weren't cleared by the server, we had to move our empty dishes to a nearby empty table. After dinner, we waited and waited for the server to return with boxes and the check. Fed up with the lack of service, one of our fellow diners got up and got everyone boxes from the side table herself. Since it was my birthday I was supposed to get ice cream and gave them sing but none of that happened Once home, both my dining companion and I had a severe bought of diahrea from the food.

    Our resso was for 545 on a Wednesday (3/12/25). We got seated and then as we already ordered (15 min later), they decided to seat another party at our table. Had to wait for them to order which was another 15 min. When ordering, we were asked what kind of rice we wanted. Waitress said “Chicken or veggies fried rice”. We (4 of us) ordered chx FR. Our chef was super slow and boring and did not “perform” and we had 2 kids at our table. It was the LONGEST hibachi cooking experience I’ve ever had. Literally didn’t get done cooking until 715. Everything was smothered in butter. Our bill came and I saw we were charged $7/each fried rice. Had the waitress said when we asked about rice options “it comes with white rice but you can up charge to fried rice”, this would have been okay and not a surprise. So we spent $28 on FRIED RICE. It was $233 for 3 adults and 1 kid. There are better and less expensive hibachi places around town that even include fried rice AND noodles. Will never come back here. You may say, “you pay for the experience” but there was none with our chef.
