In every city, there is a natural gathering spot for city folk and neighborhood people in the know. This place in Saint Paul is know as Bennett's Chop & Railhouse. Located on West Seventh & Victoria, it is the perfect meeting place of uptown and downtown, of quiet neighborhood and big city lights.

It's called a chophouse because it specializes in a casual steakhouse atmosphere with top-of-the-line cuts of the finest meats. It is a Rail-house because it is on the old railroad line serving the city and rail drinks (as well as top brands) are served in the convivial atmosphere of the horseshoe bar.

And of course Bennett's is Bennett's because owners Joe and Meghan Bennett ensure that welcoming hospitality is always served. They have taken their decades of experiences with leading hospitality brands and translated it into an intimate venue where you're not only a customer, but more importantly, a welcome guest.

We were really excited to eat here and celebrate my sons birthday. Made reservations, had to wait 30 minutes to sit at our table; we asked for water, had to get up and get it ourselves. Server didn't take our drink or app order for 20 minutes; appetizer finally came, but we had no silverware or napkins. Our meal finally came, after we had been waiting for yet another 25 minutes. Food was good, but by the time it finally came we were so annoyed with the bad service it was tough to enjoy. We do want to come back and maybe sit at the bar,not at a table again.

Best dining experience in a while for us. We ordered the medallions, tomahawk steak, lobster tail, and crab legs. Everything was delicious, the juke box was juking, and the service was top tier 🥰 oh and the Rueben egg rolls were amazing 🤤

Cool, old school, place with really good food. The only negative was it took a long time to get our meals. We saw that though the entire restaurant. However, we will likely go back for the food and the friendly staff.

Met friends at Bennett’s for dinner. It was our first time there but the friends had been there before. It’s always nice to visit old neighborhood establishments that have the charm of many years of experience. The food was delicious, the service great and the ambiance very comfortable, which made for a very pleasant evening.

This was one of the absolute best dining experiences we've had in recent memory. The food, drinks and atmosphere were fantastic and Meghan (co-owner) serving us made the evening unforgettable!❤️😁

The food was delicious! The restaurant is quite small so it is pretty noisy, but that being said we will definitely be back! Thank you so much for a delicious dinner.

I had the filet $36 Spouse had Chicken Kiev. Ok not great! Middle of the road food. Salad had too much dressing ( tasteless dressing) Martini and Old fashion were good and generous pours! Reasonable priced. The restaurant was full, busy, and everyone was having a good time. 2 dinners, 2 cocktails and 2 wines for total of $118 plus $22 tip. Very reasonable!!

Very crowded on a Friday night. Loud. Warm. Took us an hour and 30 minutes to get our food. No real apologies from the wait staff except to say they’re busy and kitchen backed up 30 minutes in. Once the food came, it was Ok. My husband’s steak was overcooked a bit. They did take a small amount $ off the final bill. Can’t say we were impressed in any way with this restaurant. It could use some updating.
