   Absolutely wonderful meal in a very pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere. The staff is professional but warm and friendly. We have dined there several times and the food always shows the chef’s talent and careful preparation. It has become my favorite restaurant!

   Our waiter, Scott, was unpretentious and attentive. The muscles and New England Clam Chowder were excellent. Good wine list. Nice ambiance. Casual yet elegant. Been dining here for years. Never disappoints.

   My meal while quite good was warm, not hot. I asked that it just be microwaved to be heated. When it came back to the table, I was warned that seemed very condescendingly that the plate was too hot to touch. Only the woman who was busing tables, delivering meals and bread asked me if my meal was OK. I definitely had the feeling that complaining was not welcomed. We have been dining at this restaurant for 16 years and the service has steadily declined. Will go back for specials but not on a regular basis. Very disappointing because we have been supporters for years.

   PRIVATE: Four of us met for supper at Blades. Two of us are recovering alcoholics. One additional person does not drink alcohol. When I told our waiter we were not having wine, he said "That's too bad." I don't appreciate that kind of stuff. If I go there again and he is our waiter, I will leave.

   Tables for two are very close together along one wall, it felt rather crowded. The service started out very well but after our dinner was served that's where it ended, once we were served, no-one came to check on us again, to refresh our drinks or anything else. When we were finished with our meal, we waited and waited for the check, and when we finally received it, we were very surprised at the price of one of the evenings specials that my wife ordered, a pasta dish that was almost $40. Their were about 30 customers in the restaurant, and due to the small size of the dining room, the noise level was intense, overall it was not a good experience and we will not return.

   Our food was delicious as usual and Steven our waiter was good. Issy, the assistant was phenomenal. She realized my knife needed to be replaced to cut my protein and replaced it without any request from me. We actually saw her more often than our waiter and she made our evening delightful.

   The standard menu items are great and there are always specials to try. Cocktails built from local distilleries never disappoint.

    Blades Bistro is an intimate setting in a rural location. It boasts one of the most experienced and accomplished chefs in this area. The steak au poivre rivals similar dishes I have eaten at the best restaurants in France, New York, and California. The pasta dishes are delicious. Salads are uniformly wonderful. My daughter got the Bistro Salad and asked as a dressing for the same sauce that was being served on salmon filet. My daughter is brilliant, and the chef is a master of sauces. Blades offers a selection of cocktails made with spirits brewed in New Mexico. The wine list at Blades in modest but everything is good. We like the minerally vouvray. Blades offers a very nice cabernet sauvignon by the glass. I could ask for a richer selection of pinot noirs, but whatever. Blades was out of the Grüne Veltliner, one of my favorite whites, but it will be back soon. The; entree prices are moderate -- maybe on the high side of moderate, but not expensive. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. Altogether, a supper at Blades Bistro is a wonderful way to end your day.
