Love Bluefin for its delicious sushi! The service is pretty good, except the waitstaff needs to be a little more attentive about water refills. Sushi makes people pretty thirsty and we had to ask for our waters to be refilled. My biggest complaint about this restaurant is that in the wintertime the temperature is a little too warm. Please be a little less generous with the heat. Thank you!

The food was good, but not excellent. We've had better there before. The service was great. I give it a four out of five because it was a good but not great experience. It's not cheap… 200+ dollars for two people eating good sushi and having a couple of beers.

The fish in all dishes were very fresh and delicious that evening. We sat at the sushi bar, and the sushi chef was very attentive. He customized our rolls, and didn't seem to nickel and dime us for little changes. I've been to this restaurant when it was definitely overpriced, but tonight was an exceptionally good value, and we enjoyed every aspect of it. This is a great sushi bar when they keep the price is reasonable! (Understanding, of course, that it is Newport Beach! $$$)

For my wife's birthday dinner I chose Bluefin and we both enjoyed both the menu choices, our food and the service. I chose the Bluefin omakase and she chose the shabu shabu. We had an appetizer of ankimo which was superb. Our server was attentive without being overwhelming or hovering. The portions were better than expected . My choice of omakase did not disappoint and appealed to the eye as well as my palate. Delicious! I would recommend Bluefin to anyone who wants a special Japanese sushi experience.

Requested indoor seating two weeks in advance but given outdoor seating. We have dined at Bluefin for over a decade, nearly all of the time at the sushi bar. We know outside dining on the coast is uncomfortable even with heaters. We canceled this reservation. Really considering whether to ever go back to Bluefin
