This Sunday evening was not crowded, but it took an over long time for food to arrive. One meal tasted as if it had waited under a heat lamp while the other cooked. Diver scallops were small, and cut in half to make a tiny food presentation. Smash burger was totally dried out and tough. Fries were great. This is a charming venue and we must’ve just hit an off night.

Incredible food but terrible service & I mean TERRIBLE! After hearing so many of my friends tell me I should experience Boone Tavern I decided to take my girlfriend here for our 1st Valentines Day together. I booked a reservation for 8PM and arrived promptly. At check in we were told it would about a 15-20 minute wait. No problem. After being seated another 10 or so minutes passed before we were greeted by our waitress, Carma where she told us about the specials, etc. Our first round of drinks took unusually long to receive but not a problem. We sat for quite a while with empty drinks and when Carma came back we were told our food should be out shortly as she asked if we'd like another round. Again, there was a very long wait. Not sure if she forgot to ring our food in or what happened.... Now the fun part, we both ordered the Filet, with asparagus, and scallop potatoes and the food was really good. However, apparently they ran out of asparagus and instead of asking us what we would like as a substitution they made the executive decision to give us green beans. My girlfriend was given a butter knife to cut her steak and when Carma came to check on us she asked for a steak knife. We ended up having to share a knife because she didn't come back until we'd finished asking if we'd like dessert. At this point I'm beyond frustrated. The table behind us had similar issues as I heard the waitress mentioned they'd credited their tab $50 whereas Carma offered us a free dessert. Our tab was $197 and I still generously tipped $50 in the spirit of good "Karma" although the service wasn't worth $5. I guess if you go and get someone who is average at their job it would be a good experience. For myself, I highly doubt I'll ever be back.

We ordered the Spinach Artichoke Dip and a cup of Broccoli Cheddar soup for starters. The dip was probably the best Spinach Artichoke dip we have ever eaten although half of the crostini were burnt on the down side. The soup was also delicious. I ordered the Pan-Seared Diver Scallops for my main. The size of the scallops ranged from nickel to half-dollar diameter. While well cooked, they tasted completely unseasoned. The carrot puree and the risotto cake were also somewhat bland. My wife ordered the Grilled Ribeye. The steak itself had a good flavor but was fairly gristly, even for a ribeye. The menu said this dish was supposed to be served with truffle pomme pave, but what came on the plate were small fingerling potatoes that were quartered and fried with again absolutely no seasoning. Our server, Kit, provided good service throughout our meal but seemed less than enthused to be there. Overall, the total experience was not worth the money paid.
