A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received many accolades in our 40+ year history: "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today - just to name a few.



Beautifully remodeled in early 2009, the Brigantine is well-known for the signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Fish Tacos. The Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.



Home to the America's Cup until 1995, Shelter Island is still the yachting center of San Diego. The Brigantine offers glimpses of this busy marina from the outdoor patio and semi-private banquet areas.



The Point Loma Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, and lunch Saturday & Sunday. Join us for our signature $5 Happy Hour from 3-6pm.

    Brigantine is a go to restaurant for us to have a nice meal with consistently good service. Comfortable interior in a nice setting.

    We arrived early and went to Happy Hour, which was cozy with a fireplace and good appetizer: calamari. All the servers were super friendly and helpful. They seated us at a comfortable booth and we had the house salad: full of healthy and yummy ingredients. The swordfish and risotto was amazing. It was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. Others enjoyed the ahi. We have been to many Brigantines: this is the flagship and in my opinion is the best for food and service. My cousin whose is a pilot is going to recommend to other flight crews. Also a close walk to lovely scenery at Shelter Island. Thank you.

    Although we had to switch to bar table the staff was very accommodating and provided appetizers-thank you and are wait person was outstanding with a large group. I would highly recommend without any reservations.

    The food would have gotten a five but the calamari appetizer we had was tuff. Other than that we will return and hopefully the other appetizers are better.

    Food not as good as it should/could be and service was lack lustre. Oysters were not that tasty, octopus was over cooked, lobster tacos would’ve been great if not drowned in sauce, swordfish was excellent.

    Our server James was very good. It was an extremely busy night but still felt taken care of. Drinks a bit pricey and appetizers are about the price of a low end entree. Avg $20. But the food was delicious!

    Likely won’t return. Took 1.5 hours from the time seated to receive our main entrees. Service was beyond slow. When our meals finally arrived, their signature swordfish dish was over cooked, very dry and bland as were the two sides — risotto and broccolini. The Mai Tai was great along with two appetizers — Brussels sprouts and grilled octopus. We should’ve just stopped there.
