   My family and I visited for my son’s 21st birthday as it’s a favourite place for him to eat. The last couple of times we’ve been, however, the food hasn’t been up to the standard we’d come to expect but we thought we’d give it a try for his special birthday. To be honest I was dreadfully disappointed - we all were. I had the crab rarebit for starter was basically a small piece of cheese on toast with the tiniest amount of crab in the centre. It was described as crab salad but there wasn’t any salad, just a few ends of chive and spring onion. The main course of braised beef was totally underwhelming. The beef was tender but not very tasty and the vegetables did not compliment it in our opinion. One positive was the birthday plate desert which was given to my son free of charge. A nice touch. The pudding a shared with my daughter (crème brule) was also very good.

   The food and service were excellent. While a little expensive the quality of the produce more Han compensates for this. If you want cheap go see Mickey D, but that isn’t cheap any more

   We have lunch hear occasionally but this was our first lunch. Our waitress was welcome. ING and efficient. Between the 4 of us we had two full welch and 2 vegetarian. Both delicious. The black pudding was the best ever and so to apparently was the halloumi. The tomatoes where delicious. Coffee excellent as always Simon

   From the minute our party walked in, we were treated with warmth and professionalism. Our waiter was outstanding. The food was amazing. The table could not have been better in it's placement and view. The ambient noise was calm but present, no echos nor overpowering music. First time we have had the pleasure of this restaurant and it will not be the last. Even a sweet gesture to mark a birthday in our party. I cannot thankyou enough for our amazing afternoon here. We all cannot wait until our next visit !

   Greeted and seated by attentive staff quickly followed by drinks order. Specials explained ad orders taken for a 2 course lunch. Food was high quality and well presented.

    Fabulous family Sunday lunch on a very wet November day. Warm atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff, excellent food, what a treat.
