The ‘server team’ concept was a failure. We had a celebratory dinner planned and were very excited to try the Bull and Bear. The restaurant is beautiful and the seating was spacious and private. The menu offerings were classic steakhouse with the right touch of modern concepts. Our problem stemmed from having too many servers. My wife has allergies to peanuts and tree nuts and we told a couple of the servers as we were ordering drinks and food. We had a little confusion with allergy questions regarding drink ingredients but got it sorted out. I’m pretty sure the servers reversed our steak temperature orders because one was too done and the other too rare. They ultimately re-fired our steaks and supplied fresh sides with the new steaks to replace those that had gone cold. Great recovery and we loved the steaks and sides! The problem came with dessert. We ordered ‘The Lemon’ and asked about the nut allergy again. The first server said the cookie that came with it had cross-contamination concerns because it was made with almond flour. This was concerning as an ingredient is way different than cross contamination. We told him we didn’t want the cookie but he insisted on bringing it on a side plate. A different server brought ‘The Lemon’ and the cookie was on the main plate. He began his presentation of ‘The Lemon’ and we interrupted him as he began cutting the cookie up and mixing with the other part. He confirmed that the cookie did contain almond flour but said no worries because the allergy was to tree nuts. Super concerning! Once we explained that almonds are indeed a tree nut he quickly and shamefully removed the plate and brought one without the cookie. He passive-aggressively cut it up quickly and without a word he left. This was obviously a dangerous mistake and I think resulted from the confusion of too many servers. To me it seems like an unnecessary and pretentious choice. We felt that the servers overall were rushed, manic, and confused.

It has been several years since we have been at the Bull and Bear but we have been there many times over the years. They still have outstanding service and food. I can highly recommend them.

Service was above expectations. Enjoyed the table side preparation of the Caesar Salad and desserts with the “smoking” liquid nitrogen!

The menu was thoughtful, well-designed, and yet playful (for those of you fortunate enough to go, ask about The Lemon on the dessert menu. And someone in your group should try the tomato/burrata salad for another delightful surprise!)

Amazing experience. The pasta explosion was delicious. Our steaks (NY Strip and Filet) were cooked to perfection and seasoned properly. I enjoyed the Caesar salad. The desserts were fantastic. The Lemon and the Napoleon were both awesome and the table prep for the Napoleon was fun to see. Last but not least, the service was best in class. All around, a wonderful evening!

Food was tasty but way overpriced for no reason. $30 for kids chicken tenders? $74 for a veal chop? $40 for a tableside Ceasar? $360 for a 750 of Caymus? Give me a break. I waited over 90 minutes for a filet that came out gray and overcooked. Ambiance is excellent, but the food is nothing special. I expected way more for the brand and the price point.

The taste of their steak was truly divine. I would recommend this to all of my friends, their entrees, main courses, and desserts are all sublime. Highly recommend, the atmosphere was very soothing, the mood was relaxing, and the food was amazing. Service was very attentive, and the staff was very friendly. The way some of the meals were cooked in front of my own eyes was splendid. Would come here again, and was glad to be able to eat here.
