Cafe Gabbiano is a casual fine dining restaurant in Sarasota Fl (Siesta Key). We source local ingredients and have a great blend of classic and modern Italian dishes. At Cafe Gabbiano everything is made to order as we want each dish to be fresh. All of our sauces and pastas are homemade.

Cafe Gabbiano is a 4,000 sqft facility that offers intimate dining as well as larger rooms to host special occasions such as beach weddings and rehearsal dinners. We have an extensive wine list, signature crafted cocktails and a great beer list. We are open daily from 5 PM to 10 PM with Happy Hour 5 PM to 6:30 PM at the bar.

Party of five. Sat immediately at a nice table inside. Ordered wine. Then waited maybe 15 minutes to order salads and food. Once we did, the salads arrived within five minutes…a little quick, but okay. Caesar salad was okay, 3 out of 5 stars. The big problem was we were all midway through our salads and the entrees arrived. We were not happy. No place to put the salads on the smallish table so we gave them to them and asked them to be taken off our bill as we could not eat them. They apologized and took off bill. The pasta I had was okay, Cherry tomato marinara, with added shrimp. The texture of the pasta was nicely al dente, but sauce was just okay. Husband had a veal dish and he said the veal was chewy. They kept coming to the table to see if we were done. We felt rushed. They did bring a dessert free of charge to the table, a bit of tiramisu, key lime pie and a couple small cannolis, and I think they were the tastiest part of the meal and the waitress was very nice and apologetic about the entree timing. Not sure whose fault that was, but that alone would keep me from going back.

This was mediocre food, with less than mediocre service. Our antipasto plate had two chunks of Parmesan with two slices of prosciutto but the bread didn’t arrive until after we had finished. The bread and bruschetta were good. The pasta was over cooked, as were the green beans. Both chicken dishes were okay; nothing good or bad. The risotto was terrible; sticky and gooey. The loud 80’s music wasn’t the ambience we were hoping for. The waitress forgot our drink orders and had to be reminded. The waitress never came back to check on us. She brought us our bill without asking if we’d like another round of drinks, dessert or coffee. We watched the woman cleaning the table wipe a sugar packet onto the floor on one table and then straw wrappers on to the floor from another table. I can’t recommend this location at this time.

ALWAYS a fabulous experience from beginning to end! Robbie, our server, is wonderful he is so attentive and willing to please. He goes above and beyond every single time. The food was delicious. I took several friends with us and two of them said the grouper was the best they had ever had. Gabbianos is one of my most favorite restaurants.

Have been there many times always enjoy the food. Our entrees were all a bit off. Did not want to create a scene. Very disappointed brought good friends hoping to impress them.Missed the mark completely

The wine selection was fabulous! Also thankful that the ingredients are imported from Italy. My meal was delicious and everyone else at the table enjoyed their dishes. Their desserts are just as scrumptious as the ones I had in Italy! Will definitely be back.

3rd time at this great Italian spot. Its worth the drive from Lakewood Ranch about 40 minutes away. Just think how many restaurants we passed. Its one of my favorite. The homemade gnocchi is the real deal. It was made tonight with a little bit of spicy red sauce sausage and red peppers. Just amazing. Cesar salad was very good. My veal Parmigiana on the bone was fantastic. We also had fried calamari to start and finished the meal with tartufo. Service was pleasant, attentive, and spaced our 5 course meal perfectly. Until the next time we yearn for more…..
