   It was a nice and the service was nice. The calamari, Caesar salad with anchovies, and the porter house are to die for.

   The entrees were cold when they arrived at the table. The only think that was hot was the sautéed spinach. My children were sharing bolognese meat sauce on spaghetti, cold but I had to give them something. It had been almost an hr and the little one was getting cranky. The BROILED porterhouse ordered as medium rare arrived cold to the table and when I checked the plate the whole steak’s fat was hard , meaning it had been out a while before they brought it to our table. I asked our waitress to take it back, we wouldn’t be eating it. She tried to blame us for ordering medium rare steak for its temperature. We’ve ordered porterhouse steaks at many steakhouses , medium rare, and it was always how and the fat sizzling. That was the only indicator without touching the steak, that we had. The plate we were told was hot, and when I pulled it closer to see it was anything but hot. Waitress did ask if we wanted them to remake it and I agreed, and she proceeded to let me know it would take a long time. I then just refused them to remake it and. Asked them to still take it away , as we were not going to eat a cold porterhouse, let alone feed the kids it. We’ve been to this location a couple years back and I feel like it has changed, feeling less family like and more like a fancy Applebees. I still prefer the location on 44th st. The nice but unnecessary thing that did happen, was the manage coming to our table to ask what happened. I explained, she apologized, asked us if we’d like to have it remade and I politely refused. We had a long day, and no energy to stick around until they learned how to cook a proper medium rare porterhouse. The first waiter was super nice and attentive, the second waitress was nice , but perhaps can get a few pointers on steaks so she doesn’t try telling the next person it’s their fault for ordering medium rare.

   I appreciated the staff because my parents were 20 min late and had no problem accommodating our reeervation.

   *Res was for 2:30pm, so not overly crowded *Server was extremely knowledgeable about all the menu items and attentive. *Food was delicious *Bathrooms were really clean (major for me deciding whether to stay or RUN!)

   Carmine’s is a family favorite. The food is consistently great tasting. We were a party of 12 and the ability to order different options, family style, ensured we could all eat a little of everything.

   Very appreciative of our waiter’s service Richard. He made it a pleasant experience over all, and really appreciated the staff that brought out the birthday dessert singing for my son who turned 21. Thank you. It’s was a busy night of birthdays. It was like fireworks going off everywhere … :)
