Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. Restaurateur Artie Cutler crafted Carmine's with a singular vision; bringing his guests abundant portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of made to order pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing among friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's!

We are open for Indoor & Outdoor Dining, Pick-up, Delivery, Catering and Private Parties. Your safety is our priority. DC no longer requires proof of vaccination to dine indoors. Indoor & Outdoor dining are available.

I made a reservation late last week for me and my boyfriend to come to celebrate his birthday yesterday, which I noted in the original reservation. I called and spoke to the hostess, Crystal, on Wednesday, asking if you all did anything special for birthdays, and she said I could order a dessert and have it brought out with "Happy Birthday" on it. I declined because I saw the portion size the restaurant offered, and I knew a whole dessert and food would be too much for the two of us. We got to the restaurant early, which was not busy or packed. I have worked in food service as a server, hostess, bartender, and food runner for 8 years, and I understand rotations and the harm in sometimes double-seating servers. Still, where we were sat, considering I put in the res notes that there was a birthday and then calling to emphasize it was a birthday again, was unacceptable. We sat in a dark corner of the restaurant by the kitchen. It was so dark that we asked to move after we had ordered the appetizer. When we moved, it was unclear who our server was because we had a young man (Darryl, I think was his name) come to greet us, but a young lady ultimately waited on us, and we did not see the young man until it was time to collect payment for the bill. I picked this restaurant because my boyfriend enjoys lasagna. We had a bottle of wine, calamari, a Caesar salad, and lasagna. The best-tasting item was the Caesar salad. The lasagna was disgusting. It had no flavor. It was falling apart. There wasn't much cheese, and it wasn't hot in the middle. We were finishing the wine, my boyfriend went to the bathroom, and the men's bathroom was DISGUSTING. Also, we didn't even get the scoop of ice cream the hostess said you all offer for birthdays. We paid the bill and just left. This was a disappointing experience.

Great experience. I have been to both New Yorks and DC and both had phenomenal service. My son was blown away by the portion sizes. Definitely had left overs and will be going back.

The lasagna was good but it could be better. The garlic and oil pasta and chicken was great! The Titanic dessert was gourgeous!
