Casa Orinda has been serving the finest Western and Italian food in the area for the past 84 years. We are famous for our fried chicken, prime beef, and classic Italian pasta, chicken, and veal dishes -- everything being made from scratch in our kitchen using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients.

Our full service mahogany bar is a popular stop for locals and visitors looking for a nice refreshment and a hearty meal in a cozy, friendly atmosphere. We have three dining rooms, each with a slightly different character afforded by our hand-formed brass hearth fireplace, Western original art collection, famous antique gun collection, and alluring floral arrangements.

Your prototypical neighborhood restaurant and bar that’s achieved something of a landmark status over the years (thus, attracting patrons and actual tourists from greater distances) for serving hearty meals, providing warm attentive service (by waitstaff, some of who have decades of tenure) and by offering a level of conviviality, bonhomie and ambience that makes you feel as if you’re dining with family and friends. Please forgive the evident bias in my review. I’ve been a proud “member” of The Casa (as it’s known by we locals) Family since 1971.

Not up to previous great dining experiences we’ve had on past visits. Service was very slow. Chicken was over cooked. Biscuit was cold and hard. Vegetables were cold. Mashed potatoes only slightly warm. Gravy was excellent.

We had a 20 minute wait despite having reservations. But Casa Orinda staff is terrific and made the wait a pleasant one. Once seated, food came quickly and it was delicious, as usual. We’ve been coming here close to 40 years and it’s a reliable favorite for traditional, well-prepared meals. Service is impeccable!

The absolute best restaurant in the east bay. The food, ambience, service and vibe. Don’t walk but run. This OG place won’t disappoint Order the chicken cutlets and dirty martini

Good food. Moderately loud and busy for a midweek evening. Neighborhood staple. There are photos in the entrance foyer of the restaurant dating to 1940 so it has a long history. The food is the highlight. Fried calsmari, seafood linguine, prime rib all done well. Pricing is not inexpensive. Without alcohol or dessert, it came to $50 pp with tip.

I was on a budget, looked at the menu and ordered the fried chicken dinner ... Look on Yelp for photos, etc. ... When the food came (fried to order), it looked exactly like the photo ...
