   We had a fantastic dinner for four with cocktails, the best $20 cheese plate I’ve had, and exceptional entrees all around. Just the right place to take out of town guests for a really special meal.

   Cedar Knoll has beeen our go to for special occasions. Previous experiences have been excellent. Our most recent visit was not up to the standards we have come to expect from them. They seemed to be understaffed and the staff didn’t seem prepared. It took longer than usual for our pre-dinner cocktails to be served and our bread was not served until our appetizers. The quality of the food for the appetizer courses was excellent. After a long wait for our dessert to be served, we were quite disappointed in the quality. It seemed like it had just been pulled from the refridgerator. We will return with the hope that the service we experienced was an isolated situation.

   One issue we had was the number of small children at the late hour. The ambiance of the room we were originally placed in was poor, the room was over lit with to many people for the size of the room. We requested to move to outdoor location and we granted the request which made our meal much more pleasant.

   The setting was beautiful but we were seated in a room that was overly lit and very cold. We saw lovely rooms in our way to be seated. Dinner was fantastic but we were seated by a family with screaming toddlers who were kept entertained by allowing them to open and slam the door to the outdoor patio. It was cold and distracting. Our waiter was delightful. We hope if we come back in another day we could enjoy the nicer dining room options.

   Definitely a treat for thanksgiving! Wonderful and local, it was just a short drive for us to a fantastic Thanksgiving meal. The river view at sunset was lovely and the appetizers with warm cider and a creamy delicate bisque were Amazing! Service seemed a little disorganized which initially delayed libations but everyone was so friendly and the atmosphere was so nice (if a bit on the chilly side; bring a sweater) we just used the time for conversation. The meal was served family style for 2, portions were perfect and the right temperature (no small feat). The turkey leg confit (?) was excellent as was the dressing! A generous desert sampler ended the meal which was fun - - we enjoyed it but also sort wondered how great a pie of their creation would have been. We will definitely be back!

   Cedar Knoll has been reinvigorated with a modern twist, inventive menu, and calming ambiance. We've never eaten out for Thanksgiving. Due to extraneous circumstances, we ate out this year and despite the throngs of people that had to be tended to, the menu was inspired, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was lively. We prefer Cedar Knoll for non-holiday events as well.

   We went to Cedar Knoll for a late Thanksgiving lunch. They offered a family-style preset menu of traditional dishes. The good was quite good (turkey a bit overcooked, but not tough). The coordination of the meal service was superb: it's not easy to serve an entire Thanksgiving meal for two family-style. The staff was friendly, attentive and efficient!

   DIsappointing Thanksgiving meal due to poor service. They called in advance to collect your credit card -- I should have known. That, along with posting "23% gratuity added to all checks" on the menu, removes any incentive to the waitstaff to treat guests well. The man who seated us and the waitor were both very rude.

    Be patient to eat at Cedar Knoll. Our waiter was terrific. Thank you Raffeil! Food very good and the ambience historic. The problem is the cook staff and bar are under staffed so waiters have to rely on little management control. They could do so much better! They are close but 2yrs ago, they were close. Need more help
