   It was Christmas Day let’s begin there. I made a reservation 1 month ago and as we checked in I sat down by the door. It was a revolving door droves of ppl kept coming in I guess to ck to see if they could get a table. I heard them say there is no availability until Jan6 so I would see those ppl that just asked leave. But it never stopped. More people lots of people kept coming in without reservations? Why didn’t you just put a sign up saying if you don’t have a reservation there are none available at this time. What I did see is wowwww your staff is amazing your servers are like no other I have ever seen. They all need a raise if you base on performance for just that day alone give them all a raise. They never missed a step regardless of how crowded it was especially upstairs by the bar where people were waiting behind people that were seated at the bar. They were like vultures waiting for the people who were sitting waiting to make a move. And I observed the ones standing at the bar waiting are alllll in the way of your servers trying to get the food that is on their big tray to the customers. It is an accident waiting to happen. All in all I had an amazing dinner, my server Tracylynn was amazing and even though it was very busy it didn’t take away from the delicious food we had.

   Kudos once again to the Columbia Restaurant, outstanding in everyway, with the parking, to the hostess desk who know what they are doing with a huge crowd, very orderly to our Outstanding server Beau! He had a great personality and was very good at what he does, we were so impressed. The food was wonderful, the wine was delicious and the atmosphere was Amazing, we love it there! It made our Christmas extra special, we loved it! Thank you to the Gonzmart Family for having one of the Best Restaurants around, simply Spectacular!!!

   My husband’s steak was well done and inedible. The premade Caesar salad was soggy and the ham was very dried out. I wasn’t able to enjoy much.

   The front of the house staff were overwhelmed as it was Christmas and did not know how to speak properly or to manage the crowd. Felt sorry for them but it was certainly a training opportunity

   The Columbia Restaurant offers a truly fantastic dining experience. The service was impeccable, with a staff that was attentive and friendly. The food was exceptional, showcasing delicious flavors and evident attention to detail. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. However, one odd and off-putting aspect was the paintings of the owners depicted as royalty. While it might have been intended as a unique touch, it came across as bizarre and out of taste, somewhat detracting from the otherwise refined atmosphere. This unusual décor choice nearly made me reconsider dining here, but thankfully, the quality of everything else more than made up for it. Overall, an excellent restaurant with a minor quirk that some might find hard to overlook.

    We visited the Columbia Restaurant in St. Augustine on Christmas Eve, and it was a truly special experience. The restaurant’s Spanish colonial décor was beautifully enhanced with holiday decorations, creating a warm and festive atmosphere that perfectly complemented the charm of St. Augustine during the season. We started with the Croquettes de Pollo as an appetizer, and they were fantastic—crispy on the outside, creamy and flavorful on the inside, with the perfect balance of chicken and béchamel. For my entrée, I chose the Bambino, a hearty and flavorful dish. The slow-cooked beef was tender and well-seasoned, paired beautifully with the rich tomato sauce and yellow rice. Each bite was comfort food at its finest. Even on such a busy evening, the service was top-notch. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy a wonderful holiday meal. Dining at the Columbia Restaurant on Christmas Eve was a memorable experience that blended outstanding food, impeccable service, and the magic of the season.
