Hilton Head Island's destination for beef & seafood lovers, Crane's Tavern & Steakhouse serves only the finest USDA Prime Grade Beef & fresh local seafood. An old English bar & heart of pine floors create the setting with warm, inviting service & an award-winning wine list.
The restaurant represents 4 generations & over 100 years of restaurateurs in the Crane family dating back to 1908, when an Irish immigrant, Frank Crane founded Crane's Tavern in Philadelphia. After prohibition Frank's son, Francis & his brothers opened the famed establishment at 333 Queen Lane, where his son, Hank worked until 1969. That year Hank ventured out on his own & opened a Crane's Tavern in Ambler, PA. & then purchased the Surf City Hotel on Long Beach Island, NJ creating yet another establishment with the Crane namesake. In 1999 he & his daughter, Beth Anne opened Crane's Tavern & Steakhouse on Hilton Head Island, SC where it has become a local favorite

My birthday dinner was excellent! Filet au poivre, scalloped potatoes and creamed spinach - perfect! Dianne is a wonderful server, friendly and helpful. I couldn’t ask for more. My husband enjoyed his crab cakes as well, and he is very picky. If you haven’t been to Crane’s you really need to go.

I have been going to Crain's for many years. It's one of our favorites on the island. It's perfect when celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. Get your reservation in early because the smaller place can fill up quickly. I like the steaks and my wife likes the shrimp & grits. She proclaims it's the best in the country.

It was our first time eating here and the food was delicious and filling. The service was outstanding especially for how crowded it was. Great restaurant for special occasions.

We went for Valentine's dinner to Cranes. Even though it was a very busy night, the waitress was appropriately attentive. The waitress kept my water glass filled. The scallops were perfectly cooked. The shrimp in the shrimp and grits were tender and delicious.

Our first time at Crane’s….loved it!!! Friendly server, fantastic meal, great ambiance. Our new “go to” dining destination!
