Hilton Head Island's destination for beef & seafood lovers, Crane's Tavern & Steakhouse serves only the finest USDA Prime Grade Beef & fresh local seafood. An old English bar & heart of pine floors create the setting with warm, inviting service & an award-winning wine list.
The restaurant represents 4 generations & over 100 years of restaurateurs in the Crane family dating back to 1908, when an Irish immigrant, Frank Crane founded Crane's Tavern in Philadelphia. After prohibition Frank's son, Francis & his brothers opened the famed establishment at 333 Queen Lane, where his son, Hank worked until 1969. That year Hank ventured out on his own & opened a Crane's Tavern in Ambler, PA. & then purchased the Surf City Hotel on Long Beach Island, NJ creating yet another establishment with the Crane namesake. In 1999 he & his daughter, Beth Anne opened Crane's Tavern & Steakhouse on Hilton Head Island, SC where it has become a local favorite

Shane was our waiter! He was phenomenal! Cannot rave enough about him., we had 6 in our party. Each got something different on the menu. Not one bad meal. All meals were spot on delicious. Highly recommend Cranes .

We had a fantastic dining experience. Our server, Shane, educated us on the menu, wines, and additions. Fantastic experience. We can’t wait to return.

Old style tavern steakhouse with great choices regarding steak cuts and portion size. Both of my guests loved their filets and the scalloped potatoes were great. Waitstaff were professional and pleasant. Great dining experience

2nd time eating here and the noise level is worse than any Waffle House or similar restaurant This restaurant is expensive but it is definitely not fine dining as it is very loud without atmosphere The wedge salad was delicious The liver was undercooked The vegetable portion was skimpy I would not return

Never, have I ever, been asked to leave my table because we took too long. Multiple courses were ordered, an expensive bottle of wine, yet within minutes of dessert being completed, the owner asked us to vacate the table. The meal was great, the server was great. Our first round of cocktails was delayed by a glass that had a significant crack. This was dealt with effectively. But at the end of the day, the owner ruined a great evening. Shame on you. So disappointed.

Pork chop was DELICIOUS and done perfectly. Ribeye EXCELLENT and the sirloin tips were soo tender and wonderful. All good even the wine .

Everything was impeccable, 5 star, from drinks, apps, entrees to desserts. Have never seen it so crowded - a full house at 6pm, but not overly noisy so you could still carry on a conversation and hear across the table. A great evening!
