- BbethanyIndiana •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoThe experience was out of this world. Understandably my boyfriend and I weren’t able to get a reservation for Valentine’s Day so we set one for the day after. We were seated quickly in a cozy booth in a beautifully decorated room. We started with the oysters - the mignonette was delightful! We also shared the steak tartare which we were a little intimidated by at first but really enjoyed. Before dinner I had the professional martini and it really was the perfect drink, followed by their Robert Pampignac Brut with dinner - my boyfriend usually only drinks beer and he said it was unreal! For the main course my boyfriend ordered the venison burger and I ordered the scallops. Both of us were wowed by the quality and flavors of our entrees, everything was perfectly cooked! Our server Iryna was friendly and attentive, she has waited on me in the past and it was such a treat to be served by her again. The Gage has become our favorite restaurant. We can’t wait to visit again!More infoThe GagePrice: Moderate• American• Downtown / Loop•4.7
- TTerriChicago / Illinois •14 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoTook hubby here for his birthday. This was our second time visiting. The food was just as we remembered, if not even better! We started off with the gumbo, which was hearty in itself. My husband had the Short ribs, which were tender and flavorful. I had the blackened catfish, which was flaky, seasoned well, and melted in my mouth. We also ordered as sides: collard greens, mac n cheese, and cornbread. OMG, I could've lived off the cornbread alone! Greens were cooked to perfection, and mac n cheese was creamy but not overly cheesy. Needless to say, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, and we had a lot of leftovers. The service was top-notch, and it was a great experience overall. It is a small space, so be prepared to maybe sit a little close to other patrons. It was cool for us, great conversation. We will definitely be back, try something else, and remember those sides are enough to 2👍🏾More infoVirtuePrice: Expensive• Regional American (Southern)• Hyde Park•4.9
- RRyanSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoI took my mom for a Valentine's Day lunch. We went around 3 PM, and even though my reservation was at 3:30 PM the staff were nice enough to let me in. Granted it was a low volume of people eating at the time. We were sat near the windows which added to the ambience of our visit. The music made it feel like we were in an old fancy jazz club. I had the French onion soup and the chicken sandwich while my mom had the Walnut turkey club sandwich. Both sandwiches came with well seasoned fries. The food was delicious and our waitress, Annette, was very attentive and sweet. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely go again. I would highly recommend the Walnut Room.More infoThe Walnut Room - ChicagoPrice: Expensive• American• Downtown / Loop•4.6
- PpatriceNew Orleans / Louisiana •1 review5.0Dined on Feb 9, 2025The experience was good. My friend and I participated in restuarant week. The menu consisted of mimosas, yogurt and fruits, chicken and ube waffle or smoked trout Benedict biscuit and house potatoes or cheeses. My friend got a mimosa and chicken and waffle. She said her food was good. I opted out of the mimosa for an ube Latte and got the trout benedict biscuit. The ube Latte was a little bitter... just a hint of honey or sugar would have done it, but my request to switch out was granted and I appreciate that more than anything. Oh and the Busman offered us sparkling water or regular. That was a nice touch as my choice was sparkling water and it was refreshing. The Busman and the Waitress were really nice and pleasant. My trout Benedict was good. No extra seasoning was needed, as well as the salad that accompanied it. The salad has a really great taste. It had a really great acidic touch. We both had house potatoes and everything was really good and filling. The jazz music provided a great vibe too. It was a really nice moment.More infoBronzeville WineryPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Bronzeville•4.3
