Peking duck was nicely done just not as crispy as I’d expect and the pancakes were quite thick relative to what I was expecting. The sautéed clams were good but I was somehow expected a bit more of a wok flavor Overall I was expecting or hoping for a more culinary experience. "WOW" What a beautiful experience - inviting and exhilarating, starting with the friendly greeting, and ending with a friendly farewell, this restaurant does not disappoint. Having never experienced this style of Japanese cuisine, in my own words it's like "Japanese Soul Food". The bistro style atmosphere elevates the experience of the incredibly delicious and perfectly executed cuisine. This is by no means anything but amazing food. You just have to dive in and try things. Not one single plate disappointed and the delicious cocktails were a bonus. One time in particular, the Curry Poutine stood out because it is a beautiful example of natural fusion of Japanese and Canadian cuisine. I hesitate to use the word "fusion" but i'm not sure what else I'd call it other than a natural outcome of talented people making wonderful food representative of their own culture perfectly integrated with another one. Service was on point, every single member buzzing about like a colony of bees - you can kindly ask any one of them for anything! It's like walking into a family gathering. Bravo Guu Toramasa! Bravo Arigato Gozaimasu !

Don at Kitsilano is a hidden gem. The food is tasty, with perfectly balanced flavors and fresh ingredients. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make it a must-visit spot. Their signature dishes are a unique, and the attention to detail is unmatched. Recommended for a perfect date night!

The food was delicious. We stopped by for a quick lunch which was outstanding. My family got the ramen soups which were amazing. The shrimp my favorite dish with the perfect amount of sauce almost like dynamite shrimp. Totally recommend this place. You should probably have a reservation since it gets packed later on into the day.
