- JJacquesSan Francisco Bay Area •5 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoAlways a delight to have dinner at Mathilde's French Bistrot. My French-Canadian family was impressed and Lena, the owner and restaurateur, was warm and welcoming. The steak frites was cooked just right, and my parents enjoyed their Halibut and Duck confit. The risotto exploded with flavor when my wife shared a taste with me. The ambience in either the patio or main dining room is pleasant, roomy enough to give a sense of privacy to each table/party, and we could talk to each other without having to raise our voices since the playlist of French chansons acted as pleasant accompaniment rather than loud headliner. I highly recommend you have a meal there before it closes for good on 12/31/2024. Sad to see them go...More infoMathilde French BistroPrice: Very Expensive• French• SOMA•4.8

Pain Bagnat was excellent; remind me my childhood. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff friendly, and the dishes delicious.
