Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's. We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times. We went for a friend's birthday. We were able to chat without being rushed. One friend is coeliac and the manager came to ensure her order was done safely, double checking everything very professionally. A lovely evening, great food and a good choice of non alcoholic drinks.

Everything about this restaurant is exceptional. Every member of staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, from the second we arrived at the door until the second we left. We ordered the tasting menu and each dish was explained on delivery to the table. The food was unmistakably fresh, and perfectly cooked and presented. We each ordered a scallop as an extra and it was probably the best I have ever tasted. The ambience was very relaxed and added to a wonderful evening. This restaurant has got it just right. It is not inexpensive, but we both left having had a very positive and enjoyable evening with exceptional food and staff. I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you to all at Higher Ground.
