- NNaomiManchester/Greater Manchester •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoNice venue, modern and clean and good vibe a little away from the crowds of the city centre but in a great setting food was good, not a huge menu but good choices so don’t mind that, as hate long winded menus Good service but think they were a little understaffed Bar closed early. A little pricey but not way overpriced for city restaurantsMore infoAlbert's ShedPrice: Moderate• British• Manchester•4.4
- SSianManchester/Greater Manchester •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoLunch for 2 on the seasonal £40 sharing menu in the Saturday before Christmas. I’d heard and read so many good things about Higher Ground but not managed to get here until now, all of which were entirely justified. The interior (my bag) is cool, stylish and well laid out, tables not too close to each other. A really friendly welcome when we walked in, genuine and warm. Superlative staff, informed, enthusiastic without being over attentive, and knowledgable. Wonderful food, a smashing selection of dishes from the full menu. Pea fritters, British crab, incrediblly tasty cured meat, golden beets, warm freshly baked bread & whipped butter, succulent leeks - all excellent. Then a sharing main of Dexter beef on a delicate but hearty mushroom spelt porridge and a bowl of mash homegrown on the HG farm in Cheshire. I’ll be attempting to recreate smoked butter at home but doubtless will fail to make it this delicious. For the quality of food, attention to detail, quality of service, this was £40 per head very well spent. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.More infoHigher GroundPrice: Very Expensive• British• Manchester•4.8
- AAndrewManchester/Greater Manchester •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWe had booked here for Christmas date night before going see Wicked at the Cinema, booking was very easy through the OpenTable app. The restaurant called a few days earlier to check our booking needs and I’d said then I wanted a romantic table. We checked in at the main door and asked to place our coats in the cloak room( which was professionally managed ), the elevator was express to the 20th floor and the moment you exited, you was met by the beautiful ambience of the bar and restaurant. We were sat next to the window ( as requested ) and had a perfect view of the city Ordering was straight forward and simple, food arrived promptly and perfectly dressed The whole was just perfect Absolutely 10/10 for the whole experienceMore info20 Stories RestaurantPrice: Very Expensive• British• Manchester•4.4
