Best British Restaurants in Holt

I look forward to coming to the Ship when I am in Norfolk. It is a special pub run by a great team. Specials menu was excellent. I had Delicious mussels with chips with a pint of Wherry. Great service and good price.. Ambience wonderful - warm fire in the hearth, beautiful Xmas tree, no screens or music just the background hum of people chatting and enjoying a meal out. Had lunch for my wife’s birthday and it was superb. Menu selection A1 particularly if you like fish. Service and attitude was excellent by all the staff and the little “extra” birthday plate was unexpected and delightful. Would highly recommend the White Horse for good food, good service and a lovely experience. Well done to Rob and all the staff.

I had the black treacle cured bacon steak and although it filled me up I could have had another, it was so good. Definitely recommend. Also the scotch eggs are to die for.

It’s been a while since we’ve had an Assembly House afternoon tea and had forgotten quite how good they are compared to others available. We were warmly greeted at restaurant reception and quickly shown to our table. After a suitable time gap our drinks request was taken by a friendly and efficient staff member, our pots of tea soon arriving. Our multi tiered tea stand then arrived with an explanation of all the delights thereon, with a request to just ask when we were ready for our scones and/or wanted our second pot of tea. Every tier was a delight as were the scones. Several other tables opted for the ‘doggie box’ but I’m afraid we scoffed the lot. We have a Norfolk Passport card so we’re entitled to a 10% discount. A lovely ‘afternoon out’, delightful food in a charming setting with very pleasant staff. Thank you.
