The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport. The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months. Being a free house we pride ourselves in the quality of our real ale, and concentrate on local breweries, such as Harvey's of Lewes and other micro breweries. Our food is cooked to order, using fresh, seasonal and where possible locally sourced ingredients. Our menus change on a regular basis and we also offer a small selection of seasonal specials on a daily basis. We welcome children over the age of 7.     Me and my wife love Berners Tavern. This must be our 12th visit and the staff make us feel like family. The food is incredible, and the wine list is expansive. Big shout out to Ricardo the sommelier for the wine choices and listening to all my questions. Truth be told, everyone is amazing and the Berners Tavern is our return destination when discussing where to enjoy our weekends. Thanks guys x

    Went for lunch today to celebrate birthday events in December/January. Food was very good, service was good, staff polite and helpful. Manageress gave us an extra drink on the house for birthdays which was really appreciated and very kind of her. Looking forward to returning again.

    Valentines night for my wife and I, Wife is also Gluten Intolerant and they had NGGI for all ingredients not gluten, my wife had the Melt NGGI burger and I had the hot dog both came with skinny fries. My wife had the rhubarb and ginger gin and the GF chocolate torte. The food was excellent and service was brilliant, mein host Alan who looked after us superbly. We had an incredibly lovely evening and meal, thanks Alan.
