- DDanielToronto / Ontario •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoChose Drift initially because of the ambiance through open table and was pleasantly surprised by the service and food. Listed our anniversary as the reason for the reservation and the kitchen ended up giving us two small tastings of oysters and pork belly to try for the first time. Our waiter had good recommendations for food and drinks to have based off of our tastes and was extremely kind and professional our entire stay. absolutely will be returning to this place 10/10More infoDriftPrice: Expensive• Canadian• Halifax•4.7
- JJerriToronto / Ontario •3 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoFrom the moment we were greeted at the door and seated, to the last bite, trip to washroom and personal send-off by our server--every moment was memorable and thoughtful. The attention to detail in creating a welcoming dining experience was top notch. Our server introduced herself and took care of us through to the very end when she met us at the door to say goodbye. She helped us make decisions about what to choose on the menu and advised honestly about how much to order. The sommelier asked all the right questions -- not just, what are you having for dinner but also what kind of wine/grape do you prefer? The food was excellent, inventive, presented beautifully and timed perfectly between courses. We appreciated the knowledge the servers all have of the food with a complete explanation given for all that we were eating. It's one of the most memorable dining experiences I've ever had.More infoTributePrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary Canadian• Halifax•4.9
- CChristopherVirginia •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoFood was superior, with the exception of the desert which lacked luster and was the only option (the chocolate cake was exceptionally disappointing). Had oysters, carrot dish mushroom dish, bone marrow and the prawns... all these plates were exceptional, I will be back. On arrival, sitting back to the upstairs picture window in the booth was cold, however heat was turned on halfway through our visit which helped(unprompted from our table). My partner had to wear her jacket the whole time sitting opposite me. Drinks were fantastic, especially with the additional buffalo Trace bone shot from the marrow bone!More infoSip Bar & FarePrice: Expensive• Contemporary Canadian• Dartmouth•4.7

Also appreciate being able to have a conversation at the table without having to yell over loud music. - AAshleyAtlantic Canada •1 review5.0Dined on Dec 27, 2024First time dining at the Five Fishermen in Halifax. We are visiting from Saskatchewan and had always wanted to spend an evening there. Our experience exceeded our expectations. The ambience was amazing. Kristen - our waitress - was wonderful. We had 2 Celiacs (must eat gluten free) at our table and she really went above and beyond to guide us through the menu and ensure that our meals were prepared safely. Most items were gluten free. We shared 2 appetizers between the 4 of us. For our main meals - and because they were out of fresh lobsters - she had the chef create a lovely gluten free lobster and scallop risotto for two of us - which wasn't on the menu...but was fantastic. The men had steak and a burger. I had a glass of wine and the men had 2 draft beer each. For $249.99 plus tip, that was a great experience and more than worth the cost. If I could rate this place 10 stars I would. Highly, highly recommend. Will return the next time I'm in town. Cheers from Saskatchewan!!More infoThe Five FishermenPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• Halifax•4.7
