Best Contemporary French Restaurants in Highland Park

Another wonderful meal at Camelia. Can’t rave enough about service. Food was all delicious. Started with Highball and New York Sour cocktails - both excellent. Good this time: Uni Ototo Toast - amazing flavor. Tokyo Turnips & their Tops was a great salad item. People have raved about Spaghetti Bolognese a la Japonaise and they were right. Ended with the most tender and flavorful Beef Cheek along with a side of Sweet Potato Gratin made with Japanese Sweet Potato. Already planning to come back to Camelia.

The woman in the phone, I assume the hostess, was a bit "catty". We called saying we were a few minutes away ( tad late for our reservation and she made it seem like there was a line out the door and we would have to sit at the bar....only to arrive 5 minutes later with many empty tables and to be seated immediately ) Might be a bit harsh to take a star away just because of her but honestly causing undue anxiety is just so unnecessary. I get it if you've got angry patrons waiting for a table but if that's not the case then please don't stress someone out 5 minutes from arriving at your restaurant. the service was fast, attentive, helpful, clean, friendly, wonderful. Adam was an absolutely wonderful sever. Totally on top of everything - knows the menu well and guided us through it perfectly to land us at exactly what we wanted. Real human with a great sense of humor :) We would come back just for Adam! I was waiting to try this omelette after seeing on TV. It's hands down the best. Simple and perfect. I'll come back every time I'm in town.

Holidays at The Langham in Pasadena has everything. The ambiance was delightful with a mixture of jazz and Christmas music. The decorations and decor were delightful. The Ballroom buffet food was delicious. From the extensive choices of breakfast foods, and pastries, seafood, meat entrees, breads, cheese, wonderful desserts, even honey comb and ginger to top it off! Cocktails included for those who choose to indulge. The Langham thought of everything. The experience was fabulous and we hope to be able to attend it again next year!
