Best Contemporary French Restaurants in Yorkville

Great food, great service, lovely ! Planning on being a ‘regular’.

A beautiful little bistro in Toronto my partner and I went to on a recommendation via Reddit. Overall this was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food from beginning to end was exquisite. We each ordered the 3-course meal which was incredible value for the freshness, flavor and incredible taste. My partner had the Gravlax, which was some of the best smoked salmon we've had, while I had the pear, brie and thyme tarte - do not sleep on their tartes they are exceptional. I had the fish special which was sole baked in parchment paper with vegetables and a butter sauce, while my partner had steak frites. The desserts were also divine. The atmosphere was soft and romantic, good for conversation and date night. Our server was attentive but not overbearing and came around just enough. A 10/10 experience and we would definitely come back the next time we are in Toronto. Cannot recommend it enough. Note: The restaurant is quite small, and would be difficult to get into without a reservation, especially at peak times.

We had an amazing date night out at Lapinou. We'd never been and were in town for the weekend following recommendations, and it was a lovely evening. The staff were very accommodating when traffic made us pretty late for our reservation, and the service was charming, attentive, and helpful. The food is absolutely incredible - we're still talking about the sliders, and the cocktail menu was full of fun and exciting new things to try.

The one and only waiter did an absolutely amazing job. He knew the specials menu by heart was able to describe the menu dishes in detail, and provided personal attention to all the diners despite the fact there were so many people coming in. The food was the best. I had the Liver and It was done to better than perfection if that was possible. Strongly suggest getting potatoes either mashed or boiled to soak up the amazing Jus. The fries didn't quite make it and I had to use the bread which was home made and over the top.

The food was exceptional as well as the presentation. Our waitress was lovely and they made our anniversary special with an anniversary card and dessert plates that had Happy Anniversary on them. A very nice touch.
