Everything was fantastic. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and nicely portioned. The service was attentive and the space is very inviting.

Outstanding food and service. The Fairmount Hotel is a bit hard to find even for a native Chicagoan. Apparently a lot of diners use Ubers but there's valet parking once you find the entrance. The place is elegant, presentation is professional, food superb. So don't panic driving through the multiple levels of Columbus Drive when all the buildings look alike!

The upside: The food is absolutely incredible, each bite was exquisite. We got the lobster wonton tacos, the smoked swordfish dip and the hot stone tenderloin and they were all excellent. The downside: everything is quite pricey and the portions are very small. This is not a place to come if you're really hungry, unless you 're prepared to drop a few hundred dollars. The service was just OK, the menu is a little unusual and we had to really pry an explanation out of our server. They also add an automatic 18% gratuity, so be aware of that.
