I remember dining here in the '80's and it has not lost that sense of occasion, people meeting old friends and enjoying the buzzy ambience. If it gets loud, it's probably because their sense of hearing is not what it was. I was attracted by the offal fest on the set menu, and chose the devilled kidneys over the Toulouse sausage - soft and succulent. My wife enjoyed the generous goats cheese and beetroot starter, and the lemon tart for dessert - just the right note of acidity. The gallette de rois was less exciting, but I should have asked for more info before ordering. Poverty plea from set menu diners - a glass of something fizzy to kick off the occasion costing less than £17 would be appreciated

Great food! Really very good indeed, highly recommend. One very attentive waitress, another waiter put a charge for a bottle of still water on the bill but never brought it. Fortunately the waitress was on it and removed the charge. For us it barely, if at all took away from a great meal! Highly recommend
