The prices are a bit high, but the food was wonderful and this is a special place. It’s a New York icon for a reason. On a side note, any negative reviews I’ve read were for tea. Despite the name, I don’t think this is really a tea place. Go for dinner, and you won’t be disappointed. We love to sit near the fireplace, however there was not an available table in that area. Instead we were seated upstairs which was such a pleasant experience! It was much more quiet and formal. Our waiter was so kind, attentive and funny! The food was 10/10 as per usual. We enjoy the crab cake, baked clams, porterhouse for two, shishito peppers and lobster mac; it’s our “go-to” dinner. We loved the special menu, loved that the employees were dressed up and the extra touch of giving each table a rose. All of this made it such a special night out! We also loved that you checked our coats after we checked in for our reservation! We also loved the fact that you hold our leftovers until the end and if one of us was still eating you didn’t clear the other persons plate right away. Jasmine has been our waitress the two times we have been for dinner so far and she has been excellent each time! The food was delicious!
