    At breakfast I had the best congee I ever had in the United States at San Laurel. The ingredients were spectacular. Home made dried pork hash was made from jamon iberico and their XO sauce was also homemade by the chef. I shall order congee for breakfast every time I stay at Conrad Downtown LA.

Who doesn't love a limited-time weekend affair where reservations are as essential as your morning coffee? Trust me, you'll want to secure your spot in advance to avoid the dreaded waitlist of doom. As for the menu, prepare to be swept off your feet by the ocean trout tartare – it's a love letter to seafood that even Poseidon would approve of. The burrata is a creamy delight with delight cucumber that will make you question why you've ever eaten anything else. And then, there's the French toast, a carbohydrate devil that could easily moonlight as dessert.     We had the venison flautas with oxacan blue corn tortillas, and the antelope curry. Plenty to take home. Probably the BEST food you can eat in the LA area right now. If you care bout umami and your health (what you feed your body), this is the place. Generous portions. Excellent quality. Staff was excellent making my new guests feel welcome so lots of smiles all around. Make sure to read the back of the menu and all the other regenerative farms/breweries/distillaries they source from. Hoping more LA resturants become regenerative! Right now this is the only one.
