- CCJ (Carissa)Houston •4 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoThe Maverick in San Antonio’s King William district offers a truly delightful dining experience. If you’re planning a visit, I recommend using their valet service, which may be more affordable than other parking options in the area. Arriving early is a great idea to enjoy their expertly crafted cocktails, created by talented mixologists. We visited for the first time with my mother-in-law, and the ambience was perfect—made even more special by the festive Christmas decor. We arrived as soon as their bar opened at 4 PM and enjoyed cocktails before our 5 PM dinner reservation. Their drink menu is exceptional, with the Carajillo standing out as a must-try. This creamy, luscious espresso cocktail is both a visual treat to watch being prepared and an absolute delight to sip. The dinner menu is a la carte, complemented by an expansive selection of European wines. Every dish we tried was delicious, but the hazelnut balsamic Brussels sprouts deserve special mention—crispy, flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable. The attentive and helpful staff rounded out our wonderful experience. We can’t wait to return to enjoy more of what The Maverick has to offer!More infoMaverick Texas BrasseriePrice: Expensive• Contemporary French• Downtown•4.6

Beef Wellington is superb, I’m mentioning this because I’ve had it at various restaurants, including Gordon Ramsey’s and it has been the best at Tardif’s. Only issue I have is that we were supposed to get a complimentary dessert but were charged for it.More infoTardif's American BrasseriePrice: Very Expensive• French• Leon Springs•4.9

I can’t say thank you enough to the fantastic wait staff and wonderful chef (sous chef, etc). The experience was a joy from the very start until our departure. We enjoyed ourselves and relished every bite. If we had time to return and further explore the menu we would! Thank you, thank you for your kindness and care. It made our holiday one to remember fondly. DeirdreMore infoBrasserie Mon Chou ChouPrice: Moderate• French• Downtown•4.8
