Best French Restaurants in Scottsboro

Overall very good, but room to improve. Breakfast bowl was interestingly good, with the sausage playing much more like chorizo and tons of potatoes setting the base. Frankly should have had more with the chips because the salt was a good flavor add. French toast was “interesting” for my teens. They didn’t hate, but also didn’t love. Portion was a bit disappointing to them. But the biscuits and gravy was very good to both of them. They’d order that again (and again). Wife had the Benedict, which didn’t come with bfast meat. The poached eggs were solid gel in the yolk…a no-no for that dish. And again a ton of Potatoes on the side. Servers were a bit overstretched, but friendly and attentive. Pricing was as expected, or even a bit less so, given the location. I’m sure we will be back some time in the future, though it’s not exactly nearby for us.

There was only one server and there was a large party in the other room and other diners in the room we were in. It took over an hour to get out food. We wanted the pizza but were told it’s only if you call ahead for it, which is not stated on the site. It’s not the servers fault for being the only one, but this has happened on occasions before. Food is good..but after waiting so long it lost its appeal. This was on a weekday. We will probably return one day, but if it’s like it was next time we will not stay.

So glad that we finally tried this place. After a lot of "meh" meals in Nashville over the past 5 or so years (soooo many steak houses doing the same thing), it was refreshing to see a place getting it right. For us, this is exactly what dining should be: personable and fun with well executed food and good pricing. I wouldn't call it cheap, but you get what you pay for, which is all anyone should expect. They aren't trying to be gimmicky or too hip. They are just doing what they do well. This is in our rotation now, along with Lyra, Yolan, Carne Mare and Bella Napoli...all places that do what they do extremely well without trying to be everything to everyone.

Good food and a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.
