- LLorraineDerbyshire •3 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoVisited three days after Christmas Day and received a warm friendly welcome and excellent service for the whole visit . Food well presented and delicious , only critic was the fish really didn’t have much taste (no beer batter taste or seasoning ) and the tartar sauce should be in a separate dish not on the plate , mine has seeped in to the mushy peas and the chips . The lamb and the pie were superb , lots of meat in the pie . The baked Alaska was delicious , a lovely change from the usual desserts . All areas of the place were busy with diners and praise has to be given to all the staff for their high standards in all areas of their hospitality. An added bonus - it’s a dog friendly destination .More infoDevonshire Arms - BaslowPrice: Moderate• Gastro Pub• Baslow•3.7

- HHazelDerbyshire •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoWe have been many times to The Barrel Inn. There’s always a great choice of menu at reasonable prices. The food is fabulous. The staff are lovely and pleasant, good ambience. On a fine clear day the views are to die for at the front of the pub. Just is my favourite place to eat.More infoThe Barrel InnPrice: Moderate• British• Hope Valley•4.8
- IIanYorkshire •1 review5.0Dined on Dec 13, 2024Our third visit having previously tried a breakfast and evening meal we opted for lunch. We had two battered fish sandwiches, ham hock and a Christmas Caesar sandwich all served with a side of fries. Everyone enjoyed their meal and I had the latter. My turkey was hot, tender and not dry, delicious. A nice proportion of Caesar salad to bread ratio on a lightly toasted roll with an accompanying side of crunchy fries. With 3 breakfast teas and an americano coffee the bill for four was a little over £58. Given the quality on offer I would advise booking as not surprisingly we only just got a table at 1pm.
