'Too much is so good, you can't stop eating it. The tandoor-baked breads are not mere swabs for sauce but could be eaten, and enjoyed, on their own; the naan with cilantro and rock salt is terrific, as is the kulcha richly stuffed with minced lamb. Masala Art offers combinations you don't see often around here, but even its more familiar dishes can be revelations. Consider its samosas. They're flakier than a lot of the competition, and their filling of peas, potatoes and sweet raisins tastes fresher, too. A burst of cardamom in every bite helps. In the same vein, soft logs of minced lamb pulse with heat from jalapeno peppers, a shock offset with breezy mint. Pureed spinach is a vibrant green, flecked with corn and rich with garlic...' - WashingtonPost.com

One Michelin Star (and all that implies) with two prix fixe selections and alacarte menu. (1) Self select 4 items from 4 groups, $90) or (most) Chefs Selection 7 items plus desert ($150). We did Chefs Selection, excellent flavors and great value. The last dish was an aged duck breast dish with all typical Indian sides (Naan, rice, curry dipping sauces). The cocktail menu and wine list were amazing. Easily worth

This was our first time at this restaurant but definitely won’t be our last. We’ve eaten at a good number of Indian restaurants, and this one is amongst the vey best. I typically get Baigan Bhartha (baked and mashed eggplant with spices) as my go-to dish. This was the best I have ever had. My wife had the fish and chips. It was also outstanding with a wonderful combination of spices both on the fries and in the fish batter. This is a restaurant that won’t disappoint, and should be visited if you are in the area.

We have dined here more than once and have never been disappointed. We are particularly partial to the "chef's special", a selection of appetizers and small dishes. There is a vegetarian and and meat-eater's version. Both are outstanding. The other interesting thing about Passage of India is the variety of Indian cuisines represented on the expansive menu. There is something for everyone and lots to explore. All is well prepared and nicely presented. Staff is friendly and informative. Highly recommended
