Cinnamon Culture is a fine Indian dining restaurant. It is the perfect setting in which to sample contemporary Indian cookery. Here you’ll taste tantalising homemade chutneys, delve into stunning starters and enjoy the kitchen’s breathtakingly creative plated main dishes, created with one eye on the traditional and another very much on current and up-and-coming trends. Unusually for an Indian restaurant, Cinnamon Culture places much of its focus on its dessert menu, allowing for further inventiveness in twisting together Eastern and Western ideas.

Indian food is very colourful, wonderfully fragrant and packed full of glorious flavours. I grew up in Delhi when I was a child - the smells and sights of the street food markets there were simply staggering. A new scent was drifting across the air from every direction; everywhere was glowing and vibrant, and people all around were eating and chattering away.Delhi is a melting pot of lots of different people from all over India. And so the street food in Delhi is an amalgamation of many different cooking styles from around the country, with some influences from western cuisine thrown in for good measure. My Indian street food recipes reflect this style and in keeping with tradition, tend to be little snacks and main courses you can eat with your hands.

Open since 1985, this delightful, unpretentious restaurant in Forest Hill, London, is renowned for its stunning and innovative modern Indian cuisine. Babur's stylish, earthy interior features exposed brick walls, natural wooden furniture and beautiful handmade Bengali artworks. The intimate atmosphere and sensational staff have made Babur a favourite dining destination with Forest Hill locals, and the food is worth making a trip across town for. We highly recommend the spicy sardine fish cake stuffed with caramelised figs; sandalwood ostrich infused with fenugreek; and black cod in spices and mustard oil with mustard mash. The wine list, designed by Peter McCombie, is also superb and features 16 wines by the glass, and 34 bottles for under £20.
