Fran's is a neighbourhood caff on Wilton Way, offering British and Italian comfort food. All day English breakfast, fry ups, fresh handmade pasta. We welcome walk-ins throughout the day and take bookings for our evening menu from 5.30pm Thursday to Saturday. On Sunday we have our all day breakfast and weekend lunch menu until 3pm. We have our Wine Bar a few doors down, if you would like to visit pre dinner or while waiting for a table.Please be advised we do not take reservations for Breakfast or Lunch. The name Ombra literally means ‘shadow’, in Venetian dialect it’s the familiar term for a small glass of wine, which originates from the traditional wine sellers retreating to the shade of St. Mark's Tower to shield the wines from the hot sun. Our dough is made fresh daily and proved slowly, meaning we're able to use minimal quantities of yeast and our pizzas are light. Our commitment is to quality, and we use carefully selected Italian and local British ingredients from a handful of small, independent suppliers to top our pizzas.Beers on tap include our own Fatto Bionda Helles Lager and Joosy Hazy Pale from Brighton’s UnBarred, and The Kernel’s Table Beer. We work with small producers as long term partners, including Fior Di Latte Mozzarella sourced from Caserta, Campania and wines imported directly from private Italian growers. The pizzeria menu features classics such as Margherita, salsiccia e friarielli, diavola and Fatto a Mano's scugnizielli dessert, whilst also featuring modern additions including lasagna pizza, homemade arancini and our own vegan 'nduja pizza.

Regularly changing Italian menu, the kind of place I find myself going back to over and over again. Favourites are always the snacks and pastas - creative and attentive cooking. Cosy atmosphere and good natural wine selection. Highly recommend
