Being beneath the Bow Bells, naturally we are dedicated to all things London, so we source as locally as possible; our coffee is roasted in Hackney and our beer brewed in the East End. This ancient listed building pre-dates the Great Fire of 1666 and is the oldest wine house in the City. Its origins were as a Merchants house and it is believed that smugglers used the old tunnel to the river from the cellars. We had to leave our table unexpectedly because my fiend received a call to say his son was being taken to hospital following an accident. The manager waived the cost of the water and helped us exit immediately. It was very compassionate and kind. We shall return and cannot commend the staff enough.

As ever food was good, but for some reason we were near the bar area, close to the front door, lots of cod air rushing down the stairs! Made it an uncomfortable meal sadly
