- JJulieSan Francisco Bay Area •6 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWonderful traditional Afghan food! We loved the appetizer menu and shared a kabob entree. The bartender/waiter was helpful with the menu. My companion has been to Afghanistan, photographing the people, documenting the culture over a 20 year period, so she was especially pleased to find this spot. The food was a bargain by Bay Area standards. We’ll be back!More infoSAFFRON KITCHENPrice: Expensive• Afghan• Berkeley•4.8
- LLeslieSan Francisco Bay Area •6 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoAcre never disappoints. This was no exception. There was a delay in the kitchen and food was taking longer than usual to come out. We barely noticed because we were with old friends catching up. But the manager came out and apologized and brought us a free appetizer and comped another round of drinks, so we were all good!More infoACRE Kitchen and BarPrice: Moderate• Mediterranean• Oakland•4.6
- AAngelaCalifornia Central Coast •5 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoAmazing dining experience for my husband's birthday. Daria was our server and was excellent. We loved her suggestions on the menu as well. We enjoyed the octopus (best I've ever had), lamb meatballs, Gigantes, Smelt, and the goat stew to finish. We were absolutely stuffed and definitely slept like babies! Everything was stunning. I've heard such wonderful things before coming here, and they had exceeded my expectations.More infoKokkari EstiatorioPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Financial District / Embarcadero•4.8
- MmimyYosemite / Mammoth Lakes •3 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoExcellent Food / service & ambience superb If u want a memorable evening with good food this is it. We were a party of 3 came for a early dinner at 5pm . It was fairly busy for Christmas Day dinner. Filled up more in the evening. We started our dinner with Prosecco wine followed with the salad & tomato soup Main orders we ordered 2 risotto very delicious, highly recommend it if you are or even not a vegetarian . And we had the Chicken, very delicious, sauce was great. Zino restaurant is in the 1910 hotel Shattuck it beckons charm & simple lines of beauty of past era but very modern variation. We had a great corner window seat & could admire the whole dinning room & view outside . I would come back to Zino. Whether it is for special occasions like Christmas dinner or even just regular dining . I would highly recommend it. Price was reasonable for the quality of food , the ambience was lovely & service very attentive. Thank you Zino Chef , kitchen crew& service staff for a excellent memorable Christmas dinner . Worth the price. Merry Christmas 2024 & A Happy Prosperous New year 2025 . Best wishes MMore infoZINOPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Berkeley•4.2
- RRohanSan Francisco Bay Area •11 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 19, 2024Nopa is a really special place. It does everything SO well. I will start with the food. Their menu stays interesting over time with new dishes regularly introduced with the seasons and what’s seasonally available. The ingredient quality and preparation are really next level and I don’t think there is a single thing on the menu that anyone would not enjoy. The flavor of every dish is always surprising in a wonderful way with interesting combinations and textures. And plating is, of course, just beautiful. And my god, don’t just order one dish per person; share! You will be wowed. Their mainstay burger should not be missed either. If you’re into mixed drinks or wine, again, Nopa is standout. And even if you don’t drink, there are mocktails that I’m confident you’ll enjoy. Next let’s talk about the staff. Nopa has such a special and wonderful culture. Their entire staff is very well versed in the ingredients and preparation of their food. They’re also extremely kind and accommodating. There seems to be a genuine enthusiasm and shared belief that they make great food, and I would agree. They have opinions and can definitely suggest wine and beverage pairings to what you order. They know where ingredients were sourced from. And their attention to detail is also remarkable. I made a note on our reservation that we’d love a table instead of the high table if one came available and true to form, they came through. Someone took time to read the comment I had left! If you have a chance to dine here, take it. Even if you don’t have a reservation, there is a high table and bar area that may be able to accommodate a drop in. It’s a lovely atmosphere and always a joy to be a patron here. Thank you Nopa staff for the unique place you’ve created here.More infoNopa - San FranciscoPrice: Expensive• Californian• North Panhandle / USF•4.6
