We took up the recommendation of the special of chicken in white wine sauce with apple and chestnuts and shared a portion of country vegetables and chips. It was absolutely delicious and arrived very quickly. The portion sizes were ideal and everything arrived hot and well cooked. We were seated upstairs as it was a more relaxed and cosy area with deep green walls and lots of interesting pictures. We decided to have dessert and I can highly recommend the cheesecake. Tom even delivered a complimentary scoop of ice cream as we were celebrating, so very thoughtful. I highly recommend the restaurant.More infoLussmanns - St. AlbansPrice: Moderate• Modern European• St. Albans•4.7
- KKarenHertfordshire •2 reviews4.0Dined 4 days agoIt was our 2nd visit to the Script as we enjoyed the first one on Fathers Day very much. Unfortunately we weren’t as happy this time. The lamb in the roast was like a doorstop and the cauliflower cheese was a bit watery and the roast potatoes were a bit underdone. The club sandwich was extremely bad. Not really sure how you can make a club sandwich bad?? A lot of bread and not much inside. The chicken and bacon were very overdone and inedible. All we were offered was a complimentary coffee!More infoScript Restaurant & BarPrice: Moderate• Modern European• Borehamwood•4.1

We have tried many local pubs & restaurants near us, but we are happy to travel from Langley to Farnham Common because The Foresters has the best roast dinner for miles around.More infoThe Foresters - Farnham CommonPrice: Expensive• Modern European• Beaconsfield•4.8
- AAmandaLondon •5 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 10, 2024This was a birthday lunch time treat and treat it was. I had attended here many, many years ago and it has since changed hands. The decor, music, festive decorations, log fire and overall ambience made it warm and welcoming. They were offering only the set festive menu, which worked well for us. There are several dining areas but because we had our dog, they seated us in the dog friendly area, which was tastefully decorated, warm and cosy. For starters we had the Scallops and the prawn cocktail. The Scallops were tasty and were wolfed down. The prawn cocktail was equally delicious with plenty of prawns, a lovely sauce and some heavily seeded bread with butter, delicious. For mains we both had the Turkey. Three large succulent cuts of Turkey sitting on top of really well seasoned carrots, green beans and mange tout. The roast potatoes were to die for, and plenty of them. All of this was covered in a delicious jus so we were certainly satisfied, oh and a side serving of gorgeously tasty cranberry. Alas, we had no room for pudding but we will certainly be back to sample them for sure! The host was particularly warm and welcoming and even discounted the sparkling english wine when I shared it was a birthday meal. Wonderful hospitality, fantastic food, would definitely recommend this neighbourhood gem.More infoChris Wheeler at The Crown Inn, Farnham RoyalPrice: Expensive• British• Stoke Poges•4.6
