Since I discovered Chimba, it's a definite yes during the week! Thanks to their many promotions throughout the week, I can visit more than once a week. The lunch specials, amazing happy hour, delicious and reasonably priced drinks, and the best part: the Sound and Tasting experience. Not only is it an amazing experience, but they also have a fantastic vinyl DJ, which gives you the chance to meet a lot of people! My first time was with my wife and friends. This time it was a business dinner for 5. All was excellent the lomo saltiado and 3 ceviche combo for 2 people is was excellent. Everyone loved their dishes. Even the 3 gringos loved it…LOL! The Charapa was great also. We didn’t even expect to find a restaurant open let alone serving with joy and enthusiasm! Not sure which shined harder…the food or the service! Both were extraordinarily exceptional! We got the tasting menu for a price we would never had expected in an SF restaurant! It was a steal! But our wonderful server informed us we didn’t pick from each course…we got ALL the plates in each course. We were like: uhm…I know we are two decent sized guys but we are not a small army. She said the plates were small! And that is the only complaint I have. She said the plates were small! She lied! Virtually every plate was an entire meal! Sooooo much food. And all of it so good, we couldn’t stop eating! It was crazy! And it was all for a fraction of the cost of a comparable meal in San Francisco!
